Although Strive has accelerated the pace of Bitcoin buying, Strategy is still far ahead in total positions. Strategy controls approximately 846,000 bitcoins worth US$71.9 billion;Twenty One Capital ranks second with 43,514 bitcoins. Strive ranks fifth among listed companies, holding 26,355 bitcoins.
Although Strategy has the largest corporate Bitcoin inventory, Strive stands out by continuing weekly purchases. Recent transactions include 1,800 bitcoins at the end of August, 1,375 bitcoins the following week, 469 bitcoins that pushed reserves past the 25,000 threshold, and the latest 1,355 bitcoins this week.
Funding sources for Bitcoin expansion
Strive relies mainly on its variable-rate Class A permanent preferred shares (SATA) to fund Bitcoin acquisitions. SATA paid a daily dividend of 13% and exceeded $1 billion in nominal value in early September. The 469 bitcoins purchased last week were fully funded through SATA.
Matt Cole reported that the company also benefited from recent exercise of warrants, earning total revenue of US$21.2 million. Through this capital increase, SATA accounted for 57.7% of total new capital, which is lower than the situation in previous weeks when preferred shares constituted all funds. These mechanisms allow Strive to maintain an aggressive Bitcoin buying strategy without undue pressure on its existing financing model.
