Software engineer Vincent Van Code refutes the "trusted path is priced" argument
Software engineer and XRP commentator Vincent Van Code refutes the view that if the path to $100 was credible, then the price of XRP would have reached $20 already. He pointed out that markets do not necessarily price distant future outcomes immediately. Instead, he expects confidence to build gradually and XRP will take on a "jagged" upward pattern over the next three years, eventually reaching $100 or higher.
His analogy is intuitive: Bitcoin and Ethereum also traded for years at prices far below what later became reality.
A $100 XRP means a valuation of more than $6 trillion
The scale of this forecast is very significant. According to CoinCodex, XRP closed at approximately $1.49 on October 4, with a market value of approximately $94 billion. With the current supply of approximately 63 billion XRPs in circulation, a price of US$20 means a market value of close to US$1.26 trillion; if it reaches US$100, the figure will rise to approximately US$6.3 trillion.
This makes the $100 target far more ambitious than simply repeating XRP's previous bull market performance. Previous reports have discussed whether XRP can reach $100 and found that the biggest obstacle is this valuation requirement. That goal is mathematically possible, but requires XRP to become one of the largest financial assets in the world.
The core of the debate is when the market will factor in adoption rates
Van Code's views echo a long-standing criticism of extreme XRP forecasts: If veteran investors really expect huge future gains, why is XRP still trading below $2? David Schwartz, former chief technology officer of Ripple, used similar reasoning to challenge a more extreme $10,000 XRP forecast, arguing that credible expectations of such returns should have influenced current market prices.
Van Code holds the opposite view, arguing that beliefs can be built gradually as adoption rates and confidence increase. Other bullish forecasts fall between these two extremes. Analyst Ali Martinez recently outlined a potential $60 XRP target, although his technical analysis first called for XRP to stand firm above $3.66 at the monthly close.
