Securitize (SECZ) shares rose nearly 8% on Tuesday, touching about $12.60 in early trading, before falling back. The rebound stems from the company's announcement that it has reached a partnership with South Korea's leading technology company LG CNS to focus on digital asset infrastructure.
South Korean regulators recently announced a proposed regulatory framework for tokenized securities (including stocks, bonds and funds), which is scheduled to be implemented in February 2027. On the same day, LG CNS launched a proprietary blockchain infrastructure platform designed to provide stablecoins and tokenized securities services to financial institutions.
Currently, the tokenized equity market has expanded to approximately US$3.2 billion, an increase of 11% in the past month.
Details of the LGNNS Agreement
The two companies have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore cooperation opportunities in tokenized investment funds, equity securities and stablecoins. The scope of its cooperation will also assess the possibility of expansion in the wider Asia-Pacific region.
Meanwhile, LG CNS launched a proprietary blockchain infrastructure platform specifically designed for financial institutions seeking to provide stablecoins and tokenized securities services. The timing of the coordination of the two announcements seemed quite deliberate. This strategic alignment coincides with important regulatory developments in South Korea's capital market. The Financial Services Commission of Korea recently announced a proposed regulatory framework covering the issuance and management of tokenized securities in stocks, bonds and investment funds, with implementation planned in February 2027. The agreement allows Securitize to establish a market presence before these regulations take effect.
Expansion of tokenized equity space
Securitize has become a prominent player in the real-world asset tokenization space, which has expanded to approximately US$40 billion. Treasury securities and private credit instruments have by far been the main forces driving this expansion.
Tokenized equity is experiencing accelerated growth. According to RWA.xyz, the market segment has reached approximately US$3.2 billion, an increase of approximately 11% in the first 30 days. CEO Carlos Domingo has previously highlighted this emerging trend. In a speech at ETHConf in July, he said that tokenized stocks could be a catalyst to push the cryptocurrency market to a total valuation of US$5 trillion.
The company's infrastructure supports the full life cycle of digital securities, from initial issuance to ongoing management. This comprehensive capability attracts institutional customers seeking integrated solutions.
However, financial fundamentals take on a completely different picture. Securitize continues to lose money, continues to consume cash, and has huge debt obligations. SECZ shares have risen about 4% since the beginning of the year. The average daily trading volume is approximately 2.78 million shares, and the company's market value is approximately 2.12 billion US dollars.
According to TipRanks analysis, technical indicators are currently sending strong buy signals for the stock. However, the LGNNS agreement remains a memorandum of understanding and regulatory approval is still required before any commercial offers can be made.
