Tesla's Bitcoin position is close to $1 billion, BTC rebounds and increases by $122 million

Bitcoin traded flat on Thursday, with the market value of Tesla's holdings approaching US$1 billion.

Bitcoin (BTC) traded relatively smoothly on Thursday after a week of strong rebound. Previously, the price of cryptocurrency once exceeded the US$87,000 mark, making the value of Tesla's Bitcoin holdings close to the US$1 billion milestone.

According to blockchain intelligence data cited by Arkham, Tesla holds 11,509 bitcoins, worth approximately US$997.8 million at current prices. As Bitcoin prices have risen by about 14%, the position has increased by about $122.6 million in the past week. It is worth noting that this increase did not come from new Bitcoin purchases. Tesla's bitcoin balance has remained unchanged at 11,509 for about four years, which means that the latest surge in the value of its holdings stems entirely from the rise in bitcoin prices.

At current valuations, Tesla's bitcoin reserves are only about $5.1 million short of the $1 billion milestone. The value of Bitcoin held by the company a week ago was approximately $872.3 million, highlighting how quickly the value of large cryptocurrency positions changed during the market rally.

In addition, Tesla's 11,509 bitcoins account for approximately 0.055% of the 21 million bitcoins cap supply. The electric vehicle manufacturer led by Elon Musk is also one of the world's largest publicly traded companies holding Bitcoin. According to BitcoinTreasures, Tesla ranks 11th among listed companies in terms of Bitcoin holdings, behind companies such as Strategy, Metaplane, MARA Holdings, Strike, Trump Media and SpaceX.
