KelpDAO已对LayerZero及其联合创始人Bryan Pellegrino提起诉讼，指控该跨链桥协议提供商在4月份其rsETH代币遭遇2.92亿美元黑客攻击事件中负有安全责任。这起诉讼在加拿大不列颠哥伦比亚省提交，是KelpDAO在数月公开争执后，试图追究LayerZero责任的最直接尝试。
KelpDAO指责LayerZero存在安全缺陷
KelpDAO于9月25日在X平台发布声明，称此次黑客攻击源于LayerZero未能披露其技术弱点，并阻止了其安全基础设施遭到入侵。“与其承担责任，在过去几个月里，LayerZero和Pellegrino先生却公开将责任归咎于我们。”KelpDAO在声明中表示，“但事实记录十分清晰：LayerZero曾以书面形式审查并认可了我们对其技术的部署和配置。”
这一说法直接挑战了LayerZero的观点，后者认为此次攻击仅局限于KelpDAO的rsETH配置，因为该桥接器使用的是“1-of-1去中心化验证网络”（DVN）。在这种设置下，LayerZero自身的DVN作为唯一的验证者，意味着伪造的跨链消息可能在未被第二个独立验证者拒绝的情况下被接受。
LayerZero previously maintained that it had recommended that users use multiple DVNs to avoid such single points of failure. However, KelpDAO refuted this in a report released May 6. The protocol states that the 1-of-1 configuration is not an exception chosen to violate the LayerZero guidelines. Instead, KelpDAO claims that the configuration follows LayerZero's official documentation and default deployment practices.
Before so-called white-hat hackers stole $320 million from Liquid Network (most of which have been returned) and today's theft of $351 million in Bitget's hot wallet, the KelpDAO incident was the largest cryptocurrency security breach in 2026. At the time, Cyvers estimated that approximately $293.7 million in rsETH was stolen and attackers transferred assets to ETH on Ethereum and Arbitrum, while lending agreements such as Aave V3, Compound V3 and Euler were also affected.
Pellegrino is preparing to defend himself
KelpDAO said its purpose is to clarify the facts and "hold LayerZero and Mr. Pellegrino accountable for the damage caused." LayerZero's CEO responded within hours via Platform X, confirming that Evercrest (KelpDAO's parent company) had filed a civil claim notice against him and his company in British Colombia, Canada. "The claim is groundless and we will respond in Vancouver and defend ourselves in accordance with the law." He wrote.
Solana Foundation的Seraphim Czecker也在X平台上总结了围绕去中心化金融（DeFi）初创企业的氛围，将其比作《权力的游戏》般的情节：要么处于顶端赚取数亿美元，要么企业窒息死亡。“如果你被黑客攻击，你就会被起诉直至破产，并在法庭斗争中耗费数年光阴。”他补充道。
