Strive CEO Matt Cole announced that the company spent $169 million last week to acquire 2,000 BTC
Strive CEO Matt Cole just announced that the company purchased 2,000 bitcoins last week at an average price of $84,422 per bitcoin, for a total cost of $169 million. The move brought the total number of bitcoins it held to 29,462.61, with a cumulative average cost ranging from US$90,400 to US$90,700.
5% of the capital in the acquisition came from SATA, generating revenue of US$56.7 million through warrants. In addition, the Form 8-K submitted today also highlights key indicators and KPIs as of the third quarter of 2026.
Record increase in holdings
According to chain data, this considerable weekly purchase volume is significantly higher than the previous week's purchase volume, and is actually the third largest single acquisition in the company's history. The largest single increase was not a direct purchase, but came from a merger deal with Semler Scientific, involving 5,816 to 5,817 bitcoins (worth approximately $675 million). This was followed by the record of 2,500 bitcoins set in 2026, which were purchased at a cost of US$185.2 million from the end of May to the beginning of June.
So while Strategy, the world's largest bitcoin holder, slowed down, Strive increased its accumulation rate. Although Strategy extended its record of consecutive weekly purchases to three, its actual purchase was only 334, far below Strive's size.
