XRP price stabilized at US$1.51: Three key periods in the ledger countdown

In early Monday morning, XRP traded at US$1.51 (approximately 1.35 euros), up 0.7% from the previous day. However, the focus this week is not on the chart, but on the agreement itself: There are three voting deadlines on the XRP ledger that are about to expire, and they will take effect on Thursday night and Friday afternoon. We do not obtain these deadlines based on press releases, but rather data read directly from online ledgers. There is an interval of 17 hours and 21 minutes between the first activation and the last activation.

How this affects you depends on where you store the XRP. Any user holding XRP on the trading platform may experience short maintenance outages during these two time windows. Anyone who keeps their own assets needs to use wallet software that supports the new rules. Any user planning to sell should understand in advance the German calculation of the holding period.

As of early Monday morning, XRP was at US$1.51 (1.35 euros). In the past 24 hours, dollar terms have risen 0.74% and euro terms have risen 1.22%; they have risen 2.95% in the past week and 7.84% in the past 30 days. The market value is approximately US$95.4 billion, and trading volume reached US$1.65 billion in the most recent day. The above data are based on market data from CoinGecko.

Among the six major currencies, XRP's performance is in the middle range. Bitcoin's weekly gain was 3.94%, Dogecoin was 4.58%, Ethereum was 2.86%, and Solana was 2.52%. XRP is still nearly 59% away from the all-time high of US$3.65 set on July 17, 2025. Therefore, there is no special situation worth rushing into this week, just a schedule.

Three modifications in 17 hours: Deadline is located on the main network, not press release

An "amendment" is a change to the XRP ledger protocol that is voted by on-chain validators and takes effect after receiving a majority of approval for 14 consecutive days. The verified ledger will have a corresponding entry record, and any public node can query the entry.

This is exactly what we did on Monday morning. In the ledger with serial number 107,446,929, 94 modifications are active, and three others have received majority votes and are in the waiting window:

• Permission Delegation V1_1 : Supported by majority votes since September 24, will be activated at 11:25 pm German time on October 8 (9:25 pm UTC time).
• fixBatchV1_2 (batch repair): The identifier is 14A2B45E, has received majority support since September 25, and will be activated at 4:12 pm on October 9. Consistent trade reports list it as a security fix. At the time of our query, it had not been included in the developer's public modification list.
• BatchV1_1 (batch processing): Received majority support since September 25 and will be activated at 4:46 pm on October 9.

We compared the identifiers of the first and third items with the public modification list of XRP ledger developers, and the checksum was consistent. There have been previous reports that the "delegation of authority" will take effect on October 5, but it actually will be on October 8, which we have documented in previous reports, and Monday's measurements accurately confirmed.

Detailed explanation of authority delegation: One account grants individual rights to another account

"Authority delegation" means that one account on the XRP ledger can grant individual rights to another account without having to hand over the private key. Prior to this, there were mainly two extensive modes on the chain: full access or no access at all.

For individual investors, this initially did not change much. But for custodians, payment service providers, and companies running dual-control accounts, this becomes very interesting: the accounting department can initiate payments without changing the trust line or re-keying the account. This separation is what auditors require of regulated agencies and why this function is seen as a cornerstone of agency use.

The background story involves the evaluation process. An initial version of the feature was included in earlier versions of node software, but was shut down after a report of a vulnerability: one account can charge transaction fees to any other account and exhaust it. The developer documented this finding in a separate disclosure report; therefore, the currently released version carries the suffix V1_1.

Batch processing and correction: Both features have been previously turned off

"Batch processing" groups multiple transactions together so that they either apply together or fail together. For trading applications, this is the difference between a clean redemption and a partial execution operation that needs to be cleaned up. This change was also run once, disabled again after the vulnerability occurred, and then returned as BatchV1_1.

As a result, two of the three changes this week were to fix bugs in the project itself, and the third was clearly a security fix to batch programs. There is no need to worry about this, as public vulnerability handling is the expected behavior in the protocol. However, it's also a good reason to look at this week calmly: it's about technology updates, not new product launches.

Verifiers and nodes will decide whether to continue running after October 9 based on their software version.

Bi-weekly rule for XRP ledgers: super majority vote for 14 consecutive days

A change requires approval from at least 80% of trusted verifiers and must be uninterrupted for two consecutive weeks. If the intermediate approval rate falls below the threshold, counting will start from scratch. This is why the three dates mentioned above are not guarantees, but are predictions based on the current state of the ledger.

The situation of BatchV1_1 illustrates this. According to industry reports, the activation was originally expected to take place as early as September, but then support fell below the necessary threshold and the counter jumped to October 9. As a result, anyone tying a sale decision to an exact date is based on a number that could still change until Thursday.

We queried a public node in the XRPL cluster on Monday morning. It reports software version 3.4.1, 200 peer nodes are connected, and no blocking status. The infrastructure is ready; the open question is whether each independent provider has followed up.

In practice, this means: Do not schedule XRP deposits and withdrawals after 11:25 p.m. on Thursday or between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Your provider's status page will tell you whether a maintenance window has been set up. If you consider migrating to a German-regulated provider: After the end of the national transition period, every service provider in the EU will need to be authorized by MiCA regulations as a crypto asset service provider. Whether your provider has this authorization can be checked in BaFin's corporate database.

Keep your own XRP: account reserve 1 XRP, object reserve 0.2 XRP, network fee 0.0001 XRP

Anyone who moves coins out of an exchange this week will encounter a unique situation on the XRP ledger that is not found in Bitcoin or Ethereum: each address must permanently retain a minimum amount. We also queried these values directly on the node.

• Account reserve : 1 XRP. As long as the address exists, the amount will be locked in and will be approximately $1.51 or € 1.35 at current prices.
• Object Reserve : 0.2 XRP. Each additional line of trust, every order in the decentralized order book, and every additional object locks this amount on top of it.
