During the week from August 31 to September 5, 2026, a total of 10 crypto and blockchain companies disclosed financing transactions totaling US$292.35 million. Among them, Félix led this week's list with a US$200 million financing package that included equity and debt, while bank-backed digital capital network Cari received US$32.5 million in investment.
Market Overview
In seven days this week, ten crypto and blockchain companies disclosed a total of US$292.35 million in financing. The main highlights include:
- Félix successfully raised US$200 million through US$87 million in equity financing and US$113 million in credit line.
- Cari received $32.5 million from seven U.S. banks to build its tokenized deposit network.
- OpenReserve announced that it has completed a US$25 million seed round of financing and simultaneously obtained preliminary approval for a U.S. bank license.
Payments and banking infrastructure accounted for US$270.5 million of total financing disclosed this week, accounting for nearly 93%. OpenReserve and Diameter Pay have also attracted funding for their placement in regulated banking services and stablecoin payment infrastructure. It is worth noting that this week's total includes Félix's $113 million credit line, so this data represents "disclosed financing" rather than pure private equity (VC) data.
According to data from DeFiLlama, CryptoRank and company announcements, investors focused most of their capital this week on stablecoin payments, remittances and tokenized banking infrastructure. The total does not include acquisitions and unconfirmed reports (such as Polymarket's rumored $1 billion financing round).
Félix raises US$200 million for stablecoin remittances business
Miami-based Félix has completed a US$200 million Series C funding round to expand its WhatsApp financial platform for Hispanic customers in the United States. The financing package includes a $87 million equity investment led by Andreessen Horowitz, with institutions such as QED Investors, Castle Island Ventures, Switch Ventures, Contour Venture Partners and Endeavor Catalyst also participating in the investment.
In addition, General Catalyst's Customer Value Fund has separately committed a US$113 million credit line. Félix plans to expand its business beyond remittances to savings, loans and AI-backed financial services.
The company uses USDC on the Stellar network to assist in settling cross-border transfers and works with Bitso to convert funds between digital assets and local currencies. Félix said it has processed more than US$8 billion in transactions in 11 Latin American markets and served more than 6 million users.
This round of financing brought the company's cumulative fundraising amount to nearly US$300 million. Although Félix did not disclose the latest valuation, it revealed that the valuation has tripled since the US$75 million Series B financing in 2025.
Cari receives US$32.5 million in financing from Bank of America
Washington, D.C. -based Cari completed the first tranche of its first round of external funding, totaling $32.5 million. All funds come from banking institutions. Banks participating in this round include First Horizon Bank, Huntington Bank, KeyBank, M&T Bank, Old National Bank, SouthState Bank and Glacier Bank.
Cari is developing a bank-governed network that allows licensed institutions to issue and transfer tokenized commercial bank deposits. Its permission-based Layer 2 network is anchored on Ethereum, while participating banks remain responsible for issuing and managing their respective deposits.
According to the company's announcement, the funds will be used for product development, bank settlement and network integration. Currently, Cari has signed contracts with 30 banks and is negotiating with another 40 institutions.
Unlike stablecoins backed by separate reserve assets, tokenized deposits represent the liabilities of the issuing bank. Cari's structure is designed to allow regional and community banks to use programmable payment tracks without having to hand over control of deposits to non-bank issuers.
OpenReserve announced a US$25 million seed round of financing
OpenReserve announced the completion of a US$25 million seed round of financing led by a16z crypto, committed to establishing an all-round National Bank of the United States with continuous settlement as its core. Jump Crypto, Areel Capital, Coinbase Ventures, Wintermute Ventures, Clocktower Technology Ventures, Quona Capital, AAF Management and Zero Knowledge participated in the investment.
The announcement follows preliminary conditional approval issued by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). Before it can officially start banking, OpenReserve still needs to raise at least $210 million in initial paid-up capital, obtain Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) guarantees, and meet OCC pre-opening requirements.
The proposed Utah-based bank plans to provide deposits, loans, digital asset custody, tokenized deposits and stablecoin payment services. OpenReserve said its infrastructure will support settlement services outside of regular U.S. payment system operating hours.
