Pineapple Financial launches billions of dollars in mortgages
Pineapple Financial (traded on the New York Stock Exchange and American Exchange under the symbol PAPL) confirmed on September 4 that it has relocated part of its funded mortgage portfolio to Injective. Effective is a Layer-1 network focused on financial applications. The migration currently covers 2,079 mortgage records, an increase from 1,259 when the project was launched in December 2025. Each record contains more than 500 data points per loan to support verification, audit trails, and risk analysis.
This move represents a different approach to tokenizing real-world assets. Rather than creating new investment products backed by mortgages, Pineapple uses blockchain infrastructure to record and verify existing loan information. These tokens do not represent ownership of the underlying mortgage, but rather represent records associated with the mortgage portfolio, creating an on-chain representation of loan data rather than a direct claim to the asset itself.
Pineapple disclosed plans to eventually migrate its entire historical portfolio to blockchain, which includes more than 29,000 funded mortgages worth more than $10 billion. In addition to the mortgage tokenization project, Pineapple also holds a $100 million treasury position in Injective tokens, and Kraken plays an important role as a key verifier of its pledged assets.
Aggressive improves institutional real-world asset (RWA) infrastructure
This milestone makes Injective one of the largest Layer-1 chains based on the total value of tokenized real-world assets. RWA(.) xyz has begun listing Injective as the leading blockchain ranked by tokenized asset value, an endorsement that reflects the speed at which institutional partnerships have grown over the past year.
"Effective Mint", a platform that allows organizations to define, configure and manage tokenized assets without writing custom smart contracts, is currently in private Alpha testing. At the protocol level,"Effective Mint" extends the network's institutional infrastructure by providing a unified platform for distributing real-world assets with embedded compliance controls. The platform allows organizations to configure rights, transfer restrictions, custody integration, and governance systems through a single distribution workflow.
POSCO International, South Korea's largest trading company, and LG CNS, the technology arm of LG Group, have selected Injective to conduct an exclusive real-time pilot for the issuance, transfer, management and settlement of trade receivables arising from real international trade. In August 2026, Injective also obtained registered transfer agent status with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) through its affiliated company, Injective Institutional Services. This qualification allows it to formally maintain securities ownership records, process transfers and perform related administrative functions under the supervision of the SEC.
Taken together, Pineapple's cooperation, corporate piloting and regulatory fundamentals show that Injective is positioning itself as an infrastructure for the tokenization of institutional assets, rather than just a platform for retail crypto participants.
