Musk confirmed on the X platform that SpaceX plans to change its name to

Musk confirmed the planned changes on the X platform. Previously, a user suggested changing the name from "SpaceXAI" to "SpaceXSI", and Musk replied: "Yes, we will make this change." Prior to this, he issued separate articles saying that AI should be "no longer mentioned" and described SpaceX as a "super-intelligent company."

As of now, the official has not announced a specific timetable. At the time of publication of this article, SpaceX had not officially changed its account name or issued any corporate announcements.

SpaceXAI will complete its second rebranding within a few months

This change will be the latest identity adjustment in Musk's AI business. Earlier this year, SpaceX acquired xAI, and Musk later said that the independent xAI company would be merged into SpaceX. As business ambitions expanded to include AI models, supercomputing, and orbital data center infrastructure, the business unit was renamed "SpaceXAI."

The previous rebranding of "SpaceXAI" was also accompanied by trademark applications, covering areas such as satellite data centers, cloud computing, model training and AI workload management. SpaceX's own regulatory documents also indicate that xAI is being rebuilt under the broader SpaceX architecture, rather than continuing to operate as an independent company.

Name change reflects SpaceX's strategic transformation

The brand change comes as SpaceX's image is increasingly transcending its traditional launch and satellite company. Its AI business now includes the Grok ecosystem and Colossus computing infrastructure. In addition, SpaceX has also expanded its partnerships with external companies in AI computing power.

This strategy has already begun to emerge in the company's computing power agreement with Anthropic, which allows Claude developers to use more than 300 MW of Colossus 1 computing power resources.
