OKX completed a new round of strategic financing with a valuation of US$25 billion.
Cryptocurrency exchange OKX has completed a new round of strategic investment with a pre-investment valuation of US$25 billion. Circle, Ripple, Qube Research & Technologies (QRT) and SC Ventures became new investors in this round. Among them, SC Ventures is Standard Chartered Bank's standard investment arm.
The transaction, which closed on October 6, 2026, is an extension of an early financing round led by the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, in March 2026. OKX did not disclose the specific financing amount.
Valuation remains unchanged
As early as March this year, ICE invested approximately US$200 million in OKX, when the exchange's valuation was also US$25 billion. This new round did not push up this valuation, and OKX chose to maintain the valuation level set seven months ago rather than conduct a new round of financing at a higher price.
OKX positions the transaction as a partnership with companies that already provide key services in the business, including stablecoin issuance, liquidity support, payments and custody.
Resources brought by various investors
- Circle: As the issuer of USDC stablecoins, USDC has been integrated into the OKX platform.
- Ripple: provides payment, liquidity and stablecoin services, and its RLUSD stablecoin has been provided through OKX's unified order book.
- QRT: A global multi-strategy investment management company that serves as an institutional counterparty to OKX, provides liquidity and risk acceptance.
- SC Ventures:Further connect institutional custody and tokenized assets for OKX. Standard Chartered Bank serves as the custodian of BlackRock's BUIDL tokenized treasury bond fund, which is part of a collateral framework developed jointly with OKX and BlackRock.
Strategic Vision: Building the Next Generation Chain Market
Xu Ming, founder and CEO of OKX, said that the company aims to create a unified financial system where users can hold, pay for, invest and grow assets. He pointed out that exchanges were just the company's starting point, not the final product; now OKX is positioning itself as a broader fintech platform.
The new funds will be mainly used to support tokenized real-world assets (RWAs), stablecoin infrastructure and payments, and will also be invested in institutional liquidity, custody services and on-chain markets.
Deepening cooperation with ICE
This round of financing is based on OKX's close cooperation with the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE). Since March this year, the two sides have expanded cooperation in the field of tokenized securities and jointly developed the joint venture "OKX ICE" focusing on the tokenization of U.S. stocks. The project is building infrastructure and aims to bring U.S. listed stocks into the chain environment through a compliance structure.
During 2026, OKX also expanded its institutional services and payment products, and worked more closely with stablecoin issuers and traditional financial institutions. As cooperation with ICE continues to deepen, OKX said that New Capital will continue to support its plans in tokenization, stablecoins, payments and institutional markets.
