Samsung and Solana launch cryptocurrency stablecoin payment function
Samsung and Solana have cooperated to officially launch cryptocurrency stablecoin payment service through Samsung Wallet. The feature will be available to 82 million U.S. users in the last week of October. By then, both Samsung Wallet and Samsung Pay will support stablecoin payment processing.
As the global penetration of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology has increased significantly, many technology giants are actively integrating blockchain applications to provide crypto asset-related services to audiences. In this context, Samsung has once again taken an important step by partnering with Solana Network to provide U.S. users with a stablecoin payment solution based on Samsung Wallet.
Seamless cross-border transfer experience
Samsung Galaxy users have long been familiar with the Samsung Wallet app pre-installed with their phones. Now, they are about to experience a new and convenient way: using stablecoins on the Solana network for fast and seamless cross-border money transfers. Specifically, Samsung Wallet and Samsung Pay will support stablecoin transactions on the Solana chain. Samsung users based in the United States will be able to use USDC (USD Coin) to make cross-border remittances.
This stable coin payment service, driven by the Solana blockchain, will be integrated into the Samsung Wallet app on Samsung Galaxy smartphones rather than run as a stand-alone plug-in. Users will directly complete the remittance operation in the familiar interface to achieve senseless switching. The feature is expected to be officially available to 82 million U.S. users in the last week of October 2026.
Samsung Wallet currently integrates a variety of digital certificates such as bank cards, ID documents, and boarding passes, and has a legal currency deposit and deposit channel, which can convert local currency and digital assets. At the same time, Solana's infrastructure will operate efficiently in the background, ensuring that users can smoothly transfer funds in their existing Wallet experience. As the release date approaches, this innovative feature will be available to you soon.
There is huge potential for global expansion
In addition, an official press release issued by Solana Network confirmed that in addition to the United States, other markets will also gradually access the service, and the specific pace of promotion will depend on regulatory compliance requirements in each region. Community users warmly welcome the integration of blockchain technology into the daily lives of users around the world, and look forward to the early coverage of this feature outside the United States.
Over the past year, stablecoin activity on the Solana network has shown significant growth. Data shows that the supply of stablecoins on the Solana chain has increased by nearly 20% year-on-year, and the trading volume of stablecoins in 2026 alone will exceed US$5.25 trillion. Previously, well-known institutions such as PayPal and Western Union have used Solana to develop stablecoin business; now, Samsung's participation will further expand the user base of the Solana ecosystem and attract more millions of users to access the network.
