U.S. Bitcoin ETF attracted net inflows of US$730.9 million, and institutional demand increased significantly

As market institutional demand continued to heat up, U.S. Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) attracted net inflows of US$730.9 million, setting the largest single-day net inflow since January. At the same time, Bitcoin prices regained their footing at the US$81,000 mark, and the crypto stock sector rebounded collectively. However, inflation data remains a key factor in determining whether the market can maintain its upward momentum.

Blackstone dominates capital inflows, with clear institutional allocation intentions

BlackRock's IBIT products dominated Thursday's trading, achieving a net inflow of approximately $454 million, according to SoValue. Six products, including Fidelity and Grayscale, all attracted large amounts of capital and together contributed to expanding participation in the regulated Bitcoin investment market. The one-day performance followed strong monthly results in August totaling $3.5 billion and marked the strongest monthly performance since September 2025.

Rachael Lucas, an analyst at BTC Markets, linked the inflow to the growing accumulation behavior of professional investors. She pointed out that IBIT dominated because institutional investors often use BlackRock's products to establish large compliance positions. This concentration suggests that current funds are more directed towards long-term asset allocations than tactical opportunities for price fluctuations.

Supported by institutional buying, Bitcoin prices rebounded above $81,000, although asset prices had fluctuated around $80,950.

Fed policy expectations boost market sentiment

Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller further boosted market sentiment by expressing support for maintaining stable interest rates while inflation continues to fall. BTSE chief operating officer Jeff Mei said Waller's remarks served as a catalyst for rising stock and cryptocurrency prices.

In addition, the Ministry of Finance's announcement to expand its repurchase program also supported a broader cryptocurrency market rebound in August. However, analysts believe that favorable economic signals are still needed before Bitcoin can confidently establish a higher price.

Crypto-related stocks generally rose, with macro data becoming a key variable

As investors 'demand and expectations for digital assets improved, crypto-related stocks generally rose. Strategy shares surged 17.6% to $144.80;Coinbase rose 10% to close at $192.70 in Thursday trading. Meanwhile, Circle shares rose 16.5% to close at $103.23, showing an overall rebound among major cryptocurrency companies.

The upcoming jobs and inflation report will determine whether Bitcoin stays at $81,000 or loses its recent upward momentum. Lucas pointed out that Weller linked his outlook directly to cooling inflation data, making markets vulnerable to unexpectedly strong inflation readings.

In addition, Bitcoin's historically weak performance in September poses another risk, despite the huge inflows of funds from ETFs. It is worth noting that the 90-day correlation between Bitcoin and gold has climbed to more than 50%, reaching its highest level in six years. Instead, Bitcoin's correlation with the S & P 500 index has dropped to near zero, indicating that investors are increasingly viewing Bitcoin as a hedge against inflation.

The net inflow of $730.9 million strengthens the story line of institutional demand, and economic data is critical to Bitcoin's continued trend in the next phase.
