Shiba Inu burning tracker disappears on Shibarium

The combustion page reported an error, missing data

Shibarium's official combustion tracking page cannot currently load normally, resulting in users holding $SHIB being unable to view the real-time dynamics of one of the token's core deflation mechanisms. The page was designed to display the number of Shiba Inu tokens sent to a "dead wallet"(a permanently unavailable address), but now only displays a red "failed to load burning information" message rather than real-time data.

The address of the contract involved is ethereum: 0x95 ad61b0a 150d 79219 dcf64e1e6cc 01f0b64c4ce, which is used to track tokens that have been permanently withdrawn from circulation. It is unclear whether the service outage was the result of a technical failure or a change in broader reporting mechanisms. The last visible burning data on the page shows that as of May 2025, more than 1 billion tokens have been destroyed.

The lack of current data has raised concerns among investors and community members because transparency on total burns is seen as a key indicator to track project progress.

How Shibarium's burning mechanism works

Token burning is at the heart of Shibarium's value proposition. Every transaction on Shibarium will incur a fee billed in BONE, and a portion of the fee will be converted to $SHIB and sent to the burning address, automatically reducing the circulation supply of tokens.

Specifically, 70% of the base fee will be accumulated in BONE until the value reaches US$25,000, which will be transferred to Ethereum Layer 1 for conversion and later destroyed. The Shiba Inu team later launched ShibTorch to further automate this process.

According to long-time contributor Mazrael, despite relatively low community attention, the cost-based combustion mechanism is still operating and has helped destroy hundreds of millions of SHIBs in the past few weeks. However, despite the continued operation of back-office mechanisms, the scale challenge remains significant. The volume of automated burning has not yet reached expected levels, and actual activity in 2026 appears moderate compared with earlier estimates of the annual destruction of trillions of SHIBs during the peak period.

Since its launch, more than 410.84 trillion SHIB tokens have been destroyed, accounting for 41.08% of the initial supply, but approximately 589.24 trillion tokens are still in circulation.

This data outage comes at a sensitive moment for the project. Whether it's a temporary technical failure or a structural issue, given the core impact of the burning report on $SHIB market sentiment, the community is watching developments closely.
