Clearpool announced its full migration from Ethereum to XRP ledgers and launched a new CLEAR token

Clearpool, a decentralized credit protocol previously built on Ethereum, is migrating its entire core infrastructure to XRP ledgers (XRPL). The platform has made plans to migrate its native tokens from CPOOL to a new asset called CLEAR, aiming to overcome previous growth constraints associated with the Ethereum network.

Reshaping strategic positioning by migrating to XRPL

By moving to XRPL, Clearpool has positioned itself as the main on-chain lending partner of Ripple, the company behind the XRP ledger. This strategic shift aims to tap into untapped institutional capital in the XRPL ecosystem and cultivate new lending markets on Ethereum that were once limited to development.

Historically, XRP ledgers have focused on cross-border payments rather than decentralized finance (DeFi) products. Its lack of advanced lending tools has left a large amount of XRP liquidity idle, while Ethereum has a leading position in the field of decentralized lending. However, recent developments have changed this pattern. The XRPL v3 upgrade introduces native lending functions to the network. Clearpool entered the market at this early stage, aiming to adapt Morpho's successful experience with the Ethereum lending model to real-world business and private credit applications on XRPL. Morpho is known for facilitating more than $14 billion in deposits in the Ethereum DeFi ecosystem.

Tips: XRPL v3--This is the latest version of the XRP ledger protocol that adds native lending capabilities and allows developers to build DeFi credit products directly on the XRP network.

New institutional credit funds and CLEAR tokens released

Clearpool's migration is accompanied by the release of major commercial products. Working with Cicada Partners, Clearpool is establishing an institutional credit fund designed to provide financing to fintech and payments companies. All settlements and payments of the fund will use RLUSD, Ripple's new regulated U.S. dollar stablecoin. Ripple has also joined as a limited partner to provide liquidity to the initial lending pool.

Currently, the system is being tested on Devnet, and XRPL mainnet verifiers will have the final vote on enabling the new lending feature. Hex Trust, a regulated digital asset custodian, oversees security, borrower verification, compliance and interoperability of the Ethereum ERC-20 infrastructure.

Tips: Hex Trust-This is a licensed digital asset custodian that serves institutional customers by providing secure custody and compliance services for cryptocurrencies.

From CPOOL to CLEAR: Token migration and the new economic model

Clearpool's original governance token, CPOOL, debuted in 2021, but now faces the problem of exhaustion of distribution. 99% of its supply has been released, leaving few resources to stimulate liquidity. The upcoming CLEAR token represents a new stage of transparency. A treasury reset will allow Clearpool to engage in aggressive market expansion within the XRPL. The project intends to implement a strict deflation model for CLEAR: Half of the agreement fees incurred on all lending products will be used to repurchase and permanently destroy tokens, and the other half will be rewarded to active pledgers.

Community members can now review migration proposals during a 14-day discussion period at the Clearpool Forum. After the discussion, token holders will decide on the final launch of the migration and the activation of the new XRPL pool through a Snapshot general vote. Clearpool's revised approach aims to introduce fully transparent and auditable lending products, with agreement fees divided between buybacks for destruction and rewards for active pledgers, marking the arrival of a new era for DeFi on XRPL.
