Transaction volume growth accelerates: Polygon's cumulative stablecoin transfers exceeded US$2.9 trillion

@0xPolygon has achieved a cumulative stablecoin transfer volume of US$2.9 trillion, the latest milestone in the network's increasingly important role as the digital dollar payment settlement layer. This figure is up from the US$2.7 trillion announced by Polygon on July 23 and higher than the US$2.6 trillion previously reported in June.

The accumulation rate has accelerated significantly. During the recent 50-day window, Polygon's cumulative trading volume increased by $200 billion, double the $100 billion increase in the previous 50-day cycle. This trajectory fits a broader pattern of accelerated activity on the web.

Polygon closed in the second quarter of 2026 with 743 million transactions, breaking a record high and an increase of 160% from the same period last year. In May 2026 alone, Polygon processed US$79.25 billion in stablecoin transactions, ranking first among all blockchains with 198 million USDT stablecoin transfers.

Real world partnerships drive adoption The growth in transaction volume is driven in part by the integration of well-known companies. Visa included Polygon in its global stablecoin settlement pilot program in April this year, which has an annualized operation scale of US$7 billion;Meta also launched a USDC payment feature for creators on Polygon earlier this year.

The supply of stablecoins online has more than doubled in the past year, from US$1.6 billion at the beginning of 2025 to approximately US$3.76 billion at the beginning of June 2026, of which USDC accounted for approximately 55% of this. Payment-related projects built on Polygon generated US$9.9 billion in transaction volume in the first half of 2026, which exceeded Polygon's total payment-related transaction volume for the full year of 2025.

Polygon's ultra-low handling fee of approximately US$0.002 per transaction and a fast settlement time of approximately two seconds make it the preferred platform for real-world encrypted payments. These features help Polygon compete for payment traffic that might otherwise flow to high-cost networks.
