OP KB Securities, Securitize and Optimist signed a memorandum of understanding to introduce tokenized financial products to the Korean institutional investor market.
According to an announcement issued by Optimist, KB Securities, tokenization platform Securitize and Optimist Foundation have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to provide tokenized financial products to Korean institutional investors on OP Mainnet. This cooperation marks KB Securities 'first public launch of a tokenization initiative and is the second institutional issuer introduced through OP Mainnet's partnership with Securitize.
The first phase of product and three-party division of labor
The first phase of this cooperation will launch two products: one is a tokenized money market fund, and the other is a fund built based on KB Asset Management's flagship investment strategy. According to the agreement, the responsibilities of each party are as follows:
- KB Securities : Responsible for product issuance and distribution to Korean institutional customers;
- Securitize: Provide tokenization platforms and fund administrative services;
- Optimism: Provide the underlying technical infrastructure through OP Stack and assist in system integration.
Future expansion plan
The three parties stated that as the local regulatory framework for tokenized securities is gradually improved, the future cooperation stage is expected to expand to tokenized stocks, American Depositary Receipts (ADRs), corporate bonds and Korean government bonds. Currently, the specific release schedule for these new product categories has not yet been announced.
Industry Significance and Market Impact
KB证券首席执行官姜振斗（Kang Jin-doo）表示：“此项协议的意义在于，它充分利用了各公司的专业能力，为韩国代币化证券的发展奠定了坚实基础。” Securitize首席执行官卡洛斯·多明戈（Carlos Domingo）指出，韩国拥有“全球最成熟的资本市场之一”，此次合作将把“经过验证的全球代币化基础设施”引入该国。
此举表明，主要韩国金融机构已开始正式评估代币化这一领域。此前，该领域的机构活动主要集中在由美国和欧洲资产管理公司主导的美元计价市场。KB证券成为首批在特定区块链网络上公开承诺代币化产品路线图的大型韩国券商之一。
区域布局与合作伙伴生态
在此之前，Optimism已与DB证券签署了一项单独的谅解备忘录，旨在利用OP Stack为韩国济州自由经济区构建代币化证券和真实世界资产（RWA）基础设施。这使得Optimism在同一年内获得了两家韩国券商机构的业务立足点。与此同时，Securitize正将其为美国资产管理公司建立的代币化和基金行政管理基础设施延伸至新的监管市场，并与多家韩国机构合作伙伴展开工作。
