Starknet's native token STRK soared 18.1% in 24 hours, breaking through the US$0.06 mark.

Starknet's native token STRK rose sharply 18.1% in 24 hours, and the price successfully exceeded US$0.06. This price move follows an important statement by StarkWare CEO Eli Ben-Sasson about Starknet's future prospects.

Ben-Sasson explores in depth the risks that quantum computers and artificial intelligence may pose to blockchain cybersecurity structures. He pointed out that in order to allow Starknet to implement security updates more independently, one option the team is considering is to move away from the Layer-2 architecture that runs on Ethereum-based and transform it into an independent Layer-1 network.

However, this statement does not mean that network transformation or management decisions have been finalized. Currently, the Starknet team is only at the stage of evaluating various technical solutions. A timeline for potential changes and the role of STRK tokens in the new architecture have not been announced.

Recently, Starknet launched a v0.14.4 update to the main network. This update significantly improves processing power, allowing approximately 1.1 billion Layer-2 Gas units to be processed within a single proof of force. Although the idea of an independent network appears to have driven STRK prices higher, a key factor in determining whether this rise is sustainable is whether the plan translates into specific technology solutions.
