Ripple and Securitize have partnered to launch a smart contract to support the conversion of BUIDL and VBILL into RLUSD
The company behind related tokens recently announced that it has entered into a joint venture with Securitech to deploy a smart contract that allows BlackRock's BUIDL holders and VanEck's VBILL holders to exchange their shares into Ripple's stablecoin RLUSD. Shortly afterwards, well-known analyst Ali Martinez pointed out that with the large fluctuations in the asset, XRP whale companies once again launched a large-scale buying model.
RLUSD connects to the Securitize tokenization platform
Both parties stated that this new smart contract adds an additional stablecoin withdrawal channel to the two tokenized short-term government bonds funds, BUIDL and VBILL. These two funds are both from traditional financial giants and are the first time they have tokenized their products and deployed them on a public blockchain.
Ripple said that the new smart contract allows holders of BUIDL and VBILL to instantly exchange their shares for Ripple's native stablecoins (RLUSD) 24/7, which is expected to unlock more stable and on-chain transfer capabilities. In other words, investors can "continue to gain gains from RLUSD" while maintaining exposure to on-chain gains and broader DeFi strategies, thereby further enhancing the practicality, flexibility and interoperability of tokenized assets.
Jack McDonald, senior vice president of Ripple stablecoins, commented: "RLUSD is designed for institutional users and provides regulatory clarity, stability and true utility value. As adoption rates increase, working with trusted platforms such as Securitize is critical to unlocking new liquidity and enterprise-level use cases."
This is the first time that Ripple stablecoins have been officially integrated into Securitize's platform, but both parties have said they plan to carry out more cooperation in the future. Securitize also plans to integrate with XRP Ledger to expand access and bring new utility to its broader ecosystem.
XRP whale buying again
Ali Martinez pointed out that in the past five days, large XRP whale companies have been very active, which coincides with the timing of the above statement. During this period, they purchased more than 470 million tokens (worth more than $720 million). These large market participants have been very positive recently. As reported a week ago, they purchased more than 1.5 billion tokens in 96 hours.
In just five days, the whales accumulated more than 470 million XRPs, worth approximately US$724 million. At the same time, a reverse pattern of "head, shoulders and bottom" is forming on the daily chart. A bullish breakthrough may be approaching.
In addition, the native token experienced a period of sharp fluctuations. A few days ago, its price soared to $1.65, but was immediately under fierce selling pressure and plunged below $1.50 a day later. However, the bulls quickly returned and launched another wave of gains on Friday, pushing them higher to $1.56. As of now, XRP remains at around $1.55, but Martinez remains optimistic about its future price trend.
He believes that XRP has completed the right shoulder of the large "head and shoulder" pattern on the daily chart, but needs to overcome the key resistance level of $1.60 to target the target price of $2.00.
