Dogecoin first "Golden Cross" in 14 months, price rally above $0.095
Dogecoin recorded its first "Golden Cross" in 14 months on the daily chart, marking an important technical milestone for the popular meme. The 50-day moving average has crossed above the 200-day moving average, indicating a possible shift in trend after a prolonged sell-off and relative weakness compared to other major cryptocurrencies.
Golden cross and recent technical pattern
The so-called "golden cross," i.e., the phenomenon of the short-term moving average crossing the long-term moving average, last appeared on the daily chart of Dogecoin in August 2025. After the signal was sent, Dogecoin rebounded briefly to $0.3 on September 13, 2025, but this upward trend did not continue and the sellers quickly regained control.
After hitting a high of US$0.3, Dogecoin faced heavy selling pressure and fell to a low of US$0.09 during a major cryptocurrency market crash on October 10, 2025. The incident coincided with extensive liquidation of the industry, which wiped about $20 billion in market value.
By November 2025, the daily chart of Dogecoin showed a "Death Cross"-a bearish pattern, and then entered a sustained downward trend that will continue until early 2026.
Price recovery and key breakthroughs
As Dogecoin began to recover from low points, the latest gold crossover took shape. The rise began in mid-August 2026, when DOGE bottomed out from US$0.06 and broke through the 50-day moving average resistance that suppressed gains throughout the year. There have only been brief breakthrough attempts in January and May 2026.
As Dogecoin surpassed the 200-day moving average for the first time since October 2025, the rally accelerated further, paving the way for the current gold crossover. As of the latest trading session, Dogecoin has risen 3.88% in the past 24 hours, and the trading price is US$0.0962.
Buyers face short-term resistance at US$0.095 and US$0.098, while US$0.106 (the September 22 pause point) becomes a key position for long testing. If Dogecoin can break through this level, the price target will look towards $0.12 and $0.16.
Dogecoin upgrades and ecosystem growth
Recent technological improvements and new additions to ecosystem development may help drive this recovery. DogeOS, a project focused on expanding the utility of dogcoin, has launched a public testing network that enables ethereum-like trading, lending and decentralized applications (DApps). The initiative aims to provide dogcoin holders with more use cases that go beyond simple transactions or price speculation.
In addition, financial technology company Metallicus launched the DogecoinVM, which connects Dogecoin to the Metal Blockchain. The technology claims to speed dogcoin transactions up to 300 times and achieve instant final certainty by operating as a DOGE-compatible ledger.
Small Dictionary: Golden Cross
Golden Cross: A technical indicator that refers to the short-term moving average crossing the long-term moving average and is usually interpreted as a signal of a bullish trend reversal in trading.
Dogecoin's latest rally follows the daily-level gold cross pattern. While the price climbs past the key moving average and the US$0.095 resistance level, it marks a reversal of more than a year of downward momentum. At the same time, new ecosystem projects are seeking to enhance dogcoin's real-world utility.
