TLDR

ARK made a large-scale investment in Meta, and Rocket Lab obtained a major ARK configuration.

  • ARK Invest disposed of 46,015 shares of Twist Bioscience, valued at approximately US$5.8 million, through its ARKK ETF.
  • Other reductions include positions in 10X Genomics, Bullish, Tempus AI and Alphabet.
  • On September 9, two ARK funds invested US$27.9 million in Meta Platforms.
  • ARK acquired approximately US$45 million in shares between August 31 and September 8, amid a nearly 60% decline in Rocket Lab's share price from its peak.
  • Intellia Therapeutics continued to receive ARK's increase, purchasing nearly 115,000 shares.

ARK makes a major Meta investment

On Friday, September 11, 2026, ARK Invest led by Cathie Wood implemented a series of strategic portfolio adjustments, reducing multiple positions and significantly increasing exposure to artificial intelligence platforms and space economy companies.

The largest reduction involved the disposal of 46,015 shares of Twist Bioscience, valued at approximately US$5.8 million, through the ARKK ETF. This marks several weeks of shrinking ARK's stake in Twist Bioscience.

Other exit operations include 60,556 10X Genomics shares worth nearly US$4 million, and 121,217 Bullish shares worth approximately US$4.1 million. Positions in Tempus AI, GeneDx Holdings and Alphabet also decreased slightly.

In contrast, ARK acquired nearly 115,000 shares of Intellia Therapeutics, valued at approximately $1.4 million. The purchase continues ARK's consistent pattern of continuing to accumulate stock of gene editing experts over the past week.

A pair of ARK funds jointly acquired a US$27.9 million stake in Meta Platforms on September 9. Meta's stock is currently about 18% below its all-time high.

According to ARK's research analysts, Meta has 3.6 billion daily active users on its application platform, constituting a strong competitive moat. The social media giant uses artificial intelligence to improve advertising accuracy and content curation efficiency in its platform suite.

The company's second-quarter revenue increased 28% year-on-year. CEO Mark Zuckerberg emphasized that Meta's advertising division has experienced faster growth in absolute dollar terms than any competitor's disclosed advertising business.

Meta's 2026 capital expenditure forecast is between US$165 billion and US$169 billion. Wood seems to expect these infrastructure investments to generate greater free cash flow generation capabilities in subsequent periods. The stock currently trades at a forward P/E ratio of 21.

Rocket Lab obtains major ARK configurations

Between August 31 and September 8, three different ARK ETFs purchased approximately US$45 million worth of Rocket Lab stock. The space company's share price has fallen nearly 60% from its all-time high of $151 set in early 2026.

Rocket Lab achieved a year-on-year growth of 62% in the second quarter and hit a record high of US$2.36 billion in total open orders. Since the end of March, the value of newly signed contracts has reached US$437 million.

CEO Peter Baker described launch service needs as "extreme." Company management pointed out that the available launch windows after 2029 are "extremely limited", which could give the company pricing power as industry demand accelerates.

The company is also in the process of acquiring Iridium, which maintains a constellation of 66 satellites serving more than 2.5 million subscribers. Wood seems to view Rocket Lab as a comprehensive space infrastructure investment argument.

ARK's main ARKK ETF generated approximately 9% of earnings in 2026, underperforming the broader market index. However, over the following three years, four other ARK strategies outperformed the S & P 500.

The company's latest acquisition highlights the focus on AI-driven technology platforms and orbital infrastructure as the fourth quarter of 2026 approaches.
