U.S. spot bitcoin funds suffer the most drastic retracement in weeks

On September 15, with news of another wave of regulatory uncertainty coming from Washington, U.S. spot bitcoin funds experienced the most significant funding reversal in weeks. Farside Investors data showed that the 12 U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs had a total net outflow of US$450.4 million that day, completely erasing the net inflow of US$159.9 million in the previous trading day.

Fidelity's FBTC led the decline, with $214.8 million divestment, followed by BlackRock's IBIT with $161.7 million, and Grayscale's GBTC with $44.1 million.

Such large-scale capital outflows are rare among spot Bitcoin ETFs. The last time there was a net outflow of this magnitude was on June 25 ($696.29 million at the time). The timing of the outflow coincides with a clear regulatory impact, although this does not alone prove that the voting result directly led to investors 'redemption behavior.

Another important market variable is also at play. The market is also waiting for the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision, which is generally expected to raise interest rates, and government bond yields have put pressure on risky assets.
