X suspended all nine accounts on August 18. The "Authenticity Policy" statement cited in the lawsuit states that X "does not allow any activity that attempts to manipulate our platform or disrupt our services through non-authentic accounts, behavior or content."
This is not the first time X has taken action against alleged abuse. Last year, X sued a bribery network related to banned cryptocurrency fraud accounts. The "Creator Revenue Sharing" program launched by Elon Musk in 2023 has been the subject of complaints for years, with critics arguing that the program rewards reprints rather than original content.
Legal Claims
The lawsuit charges the other party with fraud, unjust enrichment and conspiracy by unlawful means-a charge in British law that involves people using improper methods to jointly cause financial damage. X also advocated the establishment of a constructive trust, which means that even if funds are transferred through other accounts, they are still deemed to belong to X.
X seeks the recovery of $278,000 in proceeds, plus damages, interest and legal fees, in addition to the cost of the investigation it claims cost at least £ 75,000. The case number of the case is BL-2026-001161, and the reply has not been submitted as of September 21.
