Analysis of dogecoin price forecast: ETF channels only account for one-thousandth of the market value

In any price forecast for Dogecoin, the ETF channel is often the most cited indicator but the weakest actual support. As of now, the largest Grayscale Dogecoin Trust Fund holds net assets of US$14.11 million, while cumulative net inflows are US$16.34 million. As of Sunday afternoon, the total market capitalization of Dogcoin was US$14.63 billion. As a result, the largest fund only holds 0.097% of its tracking tokens.

This leads to a disturbing insight: For anyone who views inflow reports as a buying signal, a figure below one-thousandth of the market total is mathematically unlikely to drive price movements. This article will take an in-depth look at this ratio, put the Bitwise Fund's shrinking context into a broader context, and show which data actually determines the final outcome for German investors.

Dogecoin ETF positions: A single provider holds US$14.11 million

The capital inflows in the past week confirm the same picture from another perspective. According to data from analyst firm SoValue (assessed by 24/7 Wall St. on October 4, 2026), during the week from September 28 to October 2, the total inflow of funds related to Dogecoin, Litecoin and Hedera was less than US$10 million. Three tokens, five trading days, totaling less than US$10 million.

A fixed process will be implemented thereafter. On October 14, the dogcoin held will be converted into cash. The issuance of new shares will cease before the market opens on October 15. On Thursday, October 22, remaining shareholders will receive the unit net asset value as of October 21 as cash payment.

Fund size explains this step. When BWOW launched in November 2025, the transaction volume was approximately US$3 million, with a net outflow of US$1.23 million over its entire life cycle. The fund recently managed US$801,400. Bitwise explained the closure on the grounds that its product line continued to adapt to demand. For forecasting, the process is not as dramatic as the title sounds. A fund with a size of $801,400 converted its positions into cash and sold dogcoin worth less than one-thousandth of the daily trading volume. The liquidation day is a date on the calendar, not a supply shock.

14.4 million new DOGE units per day: Supply-side considerations

Anyone who ignores the demand side because they think the demand side is too small must honestly calculate the supply side. There is no halving mechanism for dogcoin. Since 2015, the agreement has paid a fixed amount of 10,000 DOGE per block, producing an average of one block per minute. This means 14.4 million new coins are added every day, or 5.256 billion coins per year.

At the current price of $0.09368, the daily circulation value is approximately $1.35 million. In September, approximately 432 million DOGE units entered the market through this route were worth more than US$40 million. In comparison, fund inflows were only $3.71 million. Even in the best month of the year, the ETF channel absorbed less than 9% of new supply.

The percentage expansion of supply declines year by year due to the increase in denominator (circulation). Against the background of 156.18 billion pieces in circulation, the current annualized rate is 3.37%. Five years ago, the ratio was significantly higher; five years later it will be below 3%. This is the slow and computable part of Dogecoin price forecasts that are far more reliable than any inflow report.

Euro pricing and tax planning: A key perspective for German investors

For you as a German investor, the dollar price is only half of the calculation. On Sunday afternoon, DOGE traded at 0.0831 euros. The historical high on May 7, 2021 was 0.601466 euros, so the current price is 86.2% lower than the historical record. In terms of the dollar, it was 87.2% lower than the record of $0.731578.

This one-percentage point difference comes from exchange rates and explains well why you should use the tax currency to calculate your positions. If entry prices are recorded in U.S. dollars but tax returns in euros, a source of error will be introduced in each disposal.

DOGE rose 10.0% in a month and fell 4.6% in a week. The currency has underperformed the broader market recently, although fund inflows have seen their best month since January during this period. This divergence further refutes the idea of using the ETF channel as an explanation for price formation.
