Ledger assessed that these security allegations may be related to equipment purchased through a seller named "CryptoBilis." The company requested that the sales and shipment of related products purchased from the seller be suspended until the investigation is completed. In addition, Ledger warns users who have purchased devices through the CryptoBilis channel in the past 90 days not to activate or set up a new device immediately. For users who have previously started using these devices, it is recommended to immediately generate new mnemonic recovery phrases and migrate assets to a new Ledger hardware wallet from a trusted source. Binance founder CZ responds to Ledger incident
Binance founder Zhao Changpeng (CZ) pointed out that preliminary findings point to a potential supply chain attack. He believes that some users may not have purchased authentic products, but bought tampered or forged Ledger products.
CZ emphasized that Ledger is one of the oldest and most prestigious hardware wallet manufacturers in the cryptocurrency field, but this incident does not mean that the security of all of the company's equipment has been compromised.
