HYPE sends a red flag, Hyperliquid still sees a death cross despite strong buying pressure

HYPE hits a record high of US$89, but MACD dead cross suggests weakening momentum.

Although HYPE prices recently hit a record high of US$89, the new MACD (Smooth Similarities and Differences Moving Average) dead cross signal indicates that market momentum is weakening. Over the past seven days, investors have purchased a cumulative total of US$445 million worth of HYPE tokens, demonstrating the firm confidence of bulls. However, a large number of long liquidation data suggest that short-term downward pressure may force HYPE to fall below key support levels.

Hyperliquid platform token HYPE has recently once again approached an all-time high of US$89. At present, it seems that the kinetic energy below the surface is changing. Buyers remain active, but short-term selling pressure is still building. The new MACD dead cross adds another warning sign, while traders continue to accumulate millions of dollars in HYPE positions. This situation has formed a wonderful game between long-term beliefs and weakening momentum. The next trend will determine whether HYPE continues its rally or enters another consolidation stage.

HYPE faces technical warnings

In the past few trading sessions, HYPE has maintained a steady growth momentum. The token recently climbed to an all-time high of about $89. However, the latest price movements suggest that buyers may face stronger resistance ahead. As short-term momentum wanes, sellers begin to gain the upper hand.

The clearest warning comes from the Moving Average Convergence and Divergence Indicator (MACD). MACD is used to track momentum and help traders identify potential changes in market direction. HYPE has recently formed a "dead fork" pattern on the daily chart. This pattern occurs when the MACD line is passed through the signal line. This setting usually signals reduced kinetic energy and possible downward pressure. Nonetheless, traders should avoid taking this signal as an accurate forecast. Previously, in June, HYPE had a similar pattern. After that signal, the token entered a long-term range of shocks. If selling pressure remains within a manageable range, a similar situation may happen again.

Currently, the US$80 level has become a key area of concern for traders. If this area can be held, it will help bulls defend the overall structure; if it falls below US$80, it may expose HYPE to deeper weakness.

Strong buying creates bullish hedging power

Despite technical warnings, spot investors are still actively accumulating HYPE. Traders withdrew approximately $4.54 million worth of HYPE from the exchange. In the 24 hours prior to this, purchases were approximately $73.32 million. Judging from the seven-day time dimension, the buyer's situation is stronger. During this period, investors purchased approximately $445 million worth of HYPE. The net flow was approximately minus US$17.95 million.

Negative exchange funds flows often indicate that the holder is moving tokens away from the trading platform. This behavior often means greater confidence among long-term investors. Continued accumulation may limit the severity of any potential correction. Buyers may also take advantage of lower prices as an opportunity to increase their positions.

However, the perpetual contract market currently presents a different picture. Long traders suffer liquidations on a much larger scale than short traders. In the past day, approximately $225,270 of long positions were liquidated, while short positions lost only approximately $9,520 during the same period. The losses suffered by bulls as a result are about 23.6 times that of bears. This imbalance suggests that bears have gained some control in the short term. If leveraged bulls continue to close their positions, HYPE may face additional selling pressure. The market is currently in a seesaw state between strong accumulation and weakening momentum.
