ZEC Zcash 开发团队锁定 11 月 5 日启用 NU7 重大升级

unanimous 共识与时间表
开发者 Sean Bowe 表示，NU7 将于 10 月 6 日在 Zcash 测试网上线。随后，开发团队将在观察网络在新规则下的运行情况后，于 10 月 20 日确定主网激活的高度（activation height）。
Zcash 基金会、Project Tachyon、Valar Group、ZODL 以及 Shielded Labs 等独立开发和构建 Zcash 软件的团队与公司，就升级的范围和时间表达成了开发者所称的“一致同意”。根据规定，底层技术规范需在 9 月 30 日前提交。
解决通胀问题：ZIP-218 提案
Faster block generation brings an obvious problem: if nothing else offsets it, a threefold increase in the number of blocks generated per day usually means a threefold increase in the number of newly minted coins. To this end, NU7 introduced a proposal called ZIP-218 as a solution to reduce the rewards per block by about one-third. According to specifications, this ensures that total circulation per unit of time remains the same.
This is crucial because Zcash runs a halving mechanism like Bitcoin-a built-in rule that halves mining rewards every few years until they eventually approach zero, setting a cap on the total number of tokens. Zcash holders were directly asked whether to retain the model. With 2.4 million ZECs voting, covering 66% of eligible voters, 98.9% of the votes supported retaining the model.
Long-term sustainability: Network sustainability mechanism
Although the halving mechanism may eventually lead to miners 'income drying up, NU7 responds to this issue by introducing a "Network Sustainability Mechanism." The mechanism would set aside about 60% of transaction fees rather than make them disappear. These accumulated fees will be paid out as supplementary mining rewards starting in February 2031. This is the most conservative interpretation of the holder's voting results by the five development teams.
Impact on ordinary users and background review
All of these changes will not change the daily operations of ordinary ZEC holders-no major updates are expected to be required for wallets, and NU7 has not added new transaction types. The core impact is whether Zcash can continue to inspire miners to ensure cybersecurity for decades to come without abandoning its fixed supply promise to attract bitcoin-style holders.
The upgrade comes at a time immediately after a turbulent period experienced by the network, but the performance of its native token ZEC is quite outstanding. In July, Zcash passed an Ironwood upgrade to patch a four-year-old vulnerability that could have led to someone forging ZEC. The panic briefly caused the token price to plummet by 38%.
ZEC has since rebounded sharply: it has increased by more than 2,500% in the past year. The increase was driven by Ironwood's upgraded fixes and good news from Grayscale's launch of a spot ETF. A spot ETF is a fund traded on a regular stock exchange that tracks asset prices, allowing investors to gain relevant exposure without having to directly hold tokens.
