BTC Zondacrypto creditors meet in Estonia to seek recovery of remaining assets of Poland's largest cryptocurrency exchange Zondacrypto creditors met in Estonia recently as part of legal action aimed at recovering the remaining assets of Poland's largest coin exchange that collapsed earlier this year. Bankruptcy proceedings will take place in the Baltic state of Estonia, where the company's first application was filed despite having little funds, heavy debts and almost no business activities.
Customers launch a recovery battle for Zondacrypto's cash and assets
Zondacrypto's customers and other creditors are embarking on an uphill battle to acquire and allocate the remaining assets of the failed digital currency exchange. Their first meeting took place on Thursday in the capital Tallinn-where the entity is registered-but the atmosphere was full of uncertainty because of uncertainty as how much assets could be recovered and how they could be recovered.
According to the Polsat News channel quoted by other Polish media (such as the Interia portal), only a few people in the court attended in person. Participants included the bankruptcy trustee of BB Trade Estonia Oü and lawyers representing those who suffered losses due to the collapse of the exchange, while others participated remotely.

Although Estonia has few assets to confiscate, under EU rules, proceedings must continue in the member state where they were initiated, so bankruptcy cases will continue in the Baltic states. The bankruptcy case against BB Trade was initiated by an Austrian creditor on the first application filed in its country of registration.
As early as May, Estonia financial authorities suspended the license of a cryptocurrency company that allowed it to operate Zondacrypto. The deadline for filing claims is October 27. Only creditors who file applications with the bankruptcy trustee are eligible for partial recovery of assets.
Damian Przybyłowski, a lawyer who represents nearly 500 Zondacrypto clients, told the media that the average amount of claims formally filed so far is approximately 250,000 zlotys (more than 65,000 US $). According to an estimate by financial news portal Money.pl, the total value of all claims could exceed 700 million euros (more than US$800 million), far more than the judiciary's current calculations.
