OKX推出稳定币储蓄与支付应用OKX Money
- OKX Money
According to an announcement released to the media, OKX Money allows users to recharge accounts using more than 50 supported fiat currencies. Deposits will be converted into stablecoins pegged to the U.S. dollar, and users can then hold these stablecoins and use them for payments.
Within the app, users can hold USDG, USDC, or USDT. Funds can be sent to others, and users can also spend using virtual or physical cards associated with their stablecoin balance. For eligible customers, OKX said the app provides up to 10% APY for eligible USDG balances. It is worth noting that compared with other stablecoin income products, OKX emphasizes that its rewards do not require pledge, nor does it involve similar pledge fund lock-in mechanisms.
Qualification Mechanism and Undisclosed Information
OKX points out that users can unlock higher levels of rewards by meeting certain conditions, including meeting the 30-day average deposit threshold, spending more than a certain standard within 30 days, or upgrading the exchange VIP level. In addition, eligibility and interest rates will vary based on regional and individual customer conditions.
However, when asked how the proceeds would be funded, the spokesperson declined to comment. This is important because the structure of stablecoin income projects can be very different-some rely on a share of reserve income, while others may be incentivized by the exchange itself. For now, readers should view "up to 10%" as a conditional and non-guaranteed benefit, and expect terms to vary between countries as OKX adjusts products to local compliance frameworks.
The importance of USDG integration and revenue structure
OKX's stablecoin strategy includes establishing a direct connection with Paxos's Global Dollar Network. The exchange previously joined the network in July 2025, allowing users to access USDG for transactions and transfers.
OKX Money's main interest rate applies to USDG balances. Extensive debate over stablecoin gains has often focused on asset backing methods and reward generation mechanisms. The USDG/USDC/USDT ecosystem is different from previous waves of high-risk high-yield stablecoin arrangements.
Some previous reward products include Anchor Protocol, which provided TerraUSD (UST) with up to 20% revenue. UST eventually lost its anchor in May 2022, and both tokens subsequently collapsed-a result that exposed the fragility of certain revenue models tied to algorithmic stability mechanisms. In contrast, issuers of USDG, USDC and USDT say they are entirely backed by asset reserves. Recent stablecoin reward programs linked to reserves managed within issuers 'networks have often used reserve income or allocated income based on cooperation agreements.
One reported example is that Paxos's global dollar network allocates proceeds generated by USDG reserves to partners. These reserves are described as including U.S. Treasuries, money-market funds and cash.
Regulatory friction: differentiated treatment of stablecoin income payments
As stablecoins gradually move beyond trading and expand into payments and savings, regulators are beginning to focus on whether paying "interest" on certain instruments will change the way they are classified. The report pointed out that the U.S. GENIUS Act prohibits issuers of payment stablecoins from paying interest or earnings. At the same time, banking groups advocate limits on incentives paid by exchanges. In the European Union, the Cryptocurrency Asset Markets Regulation (MiCA) prohibits issuers and crypto service providers from awarding interest on single-currency stablecoins.
These rules do not necessarily mean that OKX Money is illegal everywhere-an OKX spokesperson emphasized that promotion activities have been adjusted to local requirements and that the relevant legal entities and regulatory frameworks vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. Still, the fact that OKX did not disclose the source of revenue funding highlights why compliance may be a mobile target for customers paying stablecoin balances.
In addition, the report also pointed out broader market needs. Chainalysis data cited shows that cross-border stablecoin flows increased by 77.5% to US$220.3 billion in the 12 months to June 2026, with use cases including trade, remittances and savings-in this environment,"savings + consumption" products may find a receptive audience.
Points for observation as OKX Money expands
As OKX Money moves from market to market, key signals to track include: which jurisdictions offer full APY offers, the specific eligibility criteria applicable in each region, and, most importantly, whether OKX will clarify the funding mechanism behind the gains as regulators review the stablecoin reward structure.
