USDG TLDR
OKX Money is a stablecoin savings and payments application that has been launched in parts of Latin America, Africa, South Asia and the Middle East. Users can recharge in more than 50 currencies, and the funds will be converted to USDG, USDC or USDT. Eligible users can enjoy an annualized rate of return (APY) of up to 10% without having to pledge or lock in qualified USDG balances. OKX did not disclose the specific source of funds for this income. Relevant regulations in the United States and the European Union restrict the payment of interest by stablecoin issuers and crypto service providers to users.
How OKX Money works
Cryptocurrency exchange OKX has launched a new application called "OKX Money". The app allows users to save and make payments using stablecoins, a digital token pegged to the U.S. dollar. Currently, the service is gradually being rolled out in parts of Latin America, Africa, South Asia and the Middle East, and some users can earn up to 10% of revenue based on their account balances.
Users can recharge their accounts in more than 50 supported currencies. According to an announcement shared by OKX with Cointelegraph, deposits will then be converted into dollar-backed stablecoins. Users can hold USDG, USDC, or USDT within the app, or they can send funds to others and spend through virtual or physical cards.

历史教训与当前机制

The global regulatory environment
Regulations on stablecoin gains vary around the world. The GENIUS Act in the United States prohibits issuers of payment stablecoins from paying interest or earnings. Banking groups are also pushing for limits on rewards paid on exchanges. In the European Union, the Cryptocurrency Asset Markets Regulation (MiCA) prohibits issuers and crypto service providers from paying interest on a single currency stablecoin.
Growth in non-trading uses of stablecoins
Stabillecoins are increasingly used in non-cryptocurrency transactions. According to Chainalysis data, in the 12 months to June 2026, cross-border stablecoin flows increased by 77.5% to US$220.3 billion. Chainalysis pointed out that trade, remittances and savings are the main uses of stablecoins.
OKX stated that the promotion was carried out on a market-by-market basis to meet local requirements. The applicable legal entities and rules vary from country to country, and exchanges have not yet announced the first launched markets.
