Bitcoin stabilizes at around US$83,000 after a sharp decline, and market volatility intensifies
After a sharp market decline, Bitcoin prices have stabilized and approached US$83,000. Although it hit an intraday low of about $80,400, it then rebounded above $83,000, causing Bitcoin to fall 3.6% during the week. At the same time, most mainstream cryptocurrencies experienced a larger decline during the same period, but some tokens such as the NEAR Protocol and Monero limited declines and even achieved significant gains in some cases.
Previously, Bitcoin had failed in several attempts to recover the US$87,000 mark, and finally experienced a correction earlier this week. The sell-off intensified the downward trend, pushing BTC prices lower to $80,400 before recovering above $83,000. In just a few days, the price of bitcoin almost evaporated by $7,000, a sharp fluctuation that triggered market observers to pay close attention to the performance of alternative tokens in this context.
The performance of the NEAR agreement reflects the complexity of market trends this week. Although its tokens have surged 91.7% in the past month, the decline during the week was only 0.3%, which was relatively moderate. On October 10, NEAR rose more than 10% to approximately $5.25. As a cryptocurrency focused on privacy protection, Monero fell 1.3% during the week, outperforming Bitcoin. However, analysts warned that weekly price changes alone would not reveal whether these movements were due to new buying of funds, holders waiting and seeing or thin trading volume.
Performance comparison of major tokens
Despite Bitcoin's rebound, most large-cap tokens underperformed expectations; 13 of the 16 well-known cryptocurrencies underperformed Bitcoin. Among them, Stellar (XLM) fell the most, reaching 13.5%. XRP fell 9% during the period, although investment funds linked to XRP-related attracted $8.2 million in inflows.
- Bitcoin (BTC): weekly decline-3.6%; rebounded above $83,000 after falling to $80,400.
- NEAR Agreement (NEAR): Weekly decline-0.3%; October 10 rose 10% to US$5.25.
- Monero Coin (XMR): Weekly decline-1.3%; no significant single-day fluctuations were reported.
- Stellar (XLM): Weekly decline-13.5%; major currencies experienced the most mid-week decline.
- XRP: Weekly decline-9.0%; related funds recorded a net inflow of US$8.2 million.
Changes in ETF fund flows and market dominance
Recent fund flows show significant outflows from Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs), with net redemptions in a single day reaching US$244 million. These outflows coincided with the decline in Bitcoin prices, presenting a complex picture of investor demand. In contrast, funds specifically targeting XRP recorded significant inflows despite the decline in XRP prices.
尽管如此, several leading tokens ended the week below their recent highs.(仍有几大领先代币在本周结束时低于近期高点。)
