Community discussions shift: bullish forecasts fade away
Cryptocurrency analyst ChartNerd has questioned the recent disappearance of $1,000 XRP price forecasts. He pointed out that activity on social media accounts, previously known for bold predictions of the future value of the digital asset, dropped significantly.
ChartNerd, an analyst who regularly analyzes cryptocurrency trends, posted on social media expressing surprise at the recent lack of forecasts for XRP to reach thousand-dollar prices. His comments highlighted a significant change in the tone of XRP's comments, with radical supporters who had loudly called for extreme price targets no longer appearing to be active.
ChartNerd's comments did not provide new predictions, but instead pointed to the current "quiet period" after months of heated debate about whether XRP's potential could reach four-digit numbers. The change reflects a broader trend in the online XRP community, which often swings between highly speculative and skeptical.
"I haven't seen anyone shouting $1,000 $XRP come out for activities these days. It feels pretty weird. Can you come back?"
XRP is the native cryptocurrency of the Ripple payment network and has attracted widespread attention over the years due to frequent bullish price forecasts on social media platforms.
XRP's future goals diverge
In response to ChartNerd's post, the reply showed various views on XRP's reasonable price target. One user named Nighthawk echoed this observation and suggested that if XRP breaks the $1.52 milestone first, the call for $1,000 may resume, rekindling optimism.
"They always disappear. But once we hit $1.52, someone would post saying,'We're back,'haha."
At the same time, commentator Takashi Eikichi took a more critical stance, pointing out that predictions of $1,000 have been around for years, but there has been no substantial progress towards the benchmark. Eikichi views these continued predictions as "endless talk", signaling his skepticism about these repeatedly failed goals.
Other voices such as DocRich advocate more moderate expectations, arguing that XRP should first try to reach $4 and then consider double-or four-digit price points. According to DocRich, in the current market landscape, it is still extremely unrealistic to expect XRP to soar quickly to $1,000.
In some of the more optimistic and long-term views, the Secret Foundation predicts that XRP could theoretically approach $1,000 in 10 to 15 years, but has also set a near-term goal of reaching $1.60 by the end of this month.
Explanation of Terms: Ripple Payment Network is a real-time full settlement system and remittance network established by Ripple Labs that uses XRP as its digital asset to facilitate cross-border payments and currency exchange.
Differences in expectations highlight ongoing controversy
The response to ChartNerd's observations illustrates that the XRP community remains divided on reasonable price trajectories. Some market participants remain cautious and focus on incremental achievements, while others continue to expect huge long-term gains.
Although recent loud forecasts for the $1,000 price have subsided, discussions around XRP valuation continue to attract attention, indicating that some investors still have faith in a sharp rise.
Currently, the XRP community remains divided between suspicion, rationality and optimism, as investors assess the likelihood of achieving near-term milestones and long-term goals.
