Ripple CEO disclosed: The company's ecosystem processed US$16 trillion in transactions last year

Ripple CEO Brad Garinhaus revealed that Ripple's business ecosystem processed US$16 trillion in transactions last year, highlighting the growing size of the company's global financial business. This figure covers the total transaction volume generated by newly acquired businesses under Ripple over the past year.

Major acquisitions drive transaction volume growth

Garlinhaus attributed Ripple's US$16 trillion total transaction volume to the integration of two acquisitions completed last year. The company acquired Hidden Road, a non-bank prime broker responsible for approximately $3 trillion in clearing transactions, and G-Treasury, a money management software provider that handled $13 trillion in trading activity. Currently, Ripple operates these entities as Ripple Prime and Ripple Treasury, which form the core of the company's expanding business. Garlinhaus said the combined transaction volume is comparable to that of large global payment processors such as Visa.

Galinghaus said that Ripple Prime and Ripple Treasury are currently in record years, and CEOs are confident that overall transaction volumes will continue to rise. He said the company expects financial activity to increase further as demand from corporate customers grows. The total transaction flow generated by Ripple through the businesses it acquired reached $16 trillion last year, a figure Garlinhaus compared with the size of Visa's network. These business units are reporting record results, further boosting Ripple's expectations for transaction growth.

(Note: G-Treasury is a funds and cash management software company that helps organizations automate payments, manage liquidity, and optimize financial workflows.)

On-chain settlement is still limited

Galinghaus pointed out the relationship between total transaction volume and blockchain settlement. He estimates that only about 0.1% of Ripple's current US$16 trillion transaction flow is settled on-chain through stablecoins, XRP or similar blockchain assets. Every 0.1% increase in on-chain migration may represent approximately US$160 billion in transaction activity. Ripple's CEO outlined a long-term goal to increase the proportion of transactions based on blockchain-based settlements. He said the strategy aims to provide corporate customers with greater efficiency in terms of speed, cost and transaction certainty.

(The following is an overview of business data: Ripple Prime (Hidden Road) has a transaction volume of US$3 trillion, active, a record year;Ripple Treasury (G-Treasury) has a transaction volume of US$13 trillion, active, a record year; the Ripple ecosystem totals US$16 trillion and continues to grow.)

Enterprise demand for stablecoin solutions increases

Garlinhouse has observed a recent increase in consultations from chief financial officers and financial executives seeking information on blockchain settlement and stablecoin use cases. He said much of the advice comes from executives who don't know how to unlock idle capital spread across subsidiaries around the world. According to Garlinhaus, Ripple has been asked to assist these organizations in leveraging stablecoins and other blockchain technologies to maximize global liquidity and increase operational flexibility. The growing attention from financial decision makers suggests that the adoption of blockchain in corporate financial practices is expanding. Executives are now turning to Ripple for guidance on how stablecoins and blockchain systems can help free up trapped corporate capital and manage global liquidity more efficiently.

Crypto focus shifts to actual utility

When talking about cryptocurrency market dynamics, Garinhaus emphasized the importance of developing real-world utility, arguing that the sustainability of the industry depends on real use cases rather than speculation or memecoins. He explained how Ripple can demonstrate tangible benefits to institutional clients by expanding into large-scale financial services, especially as more companies explore blockchain-based settlements. Although most of Ripple's activities are currently offline, Garlinhaus believes that the continued shift to on-chain settlement will lead to significant growth in blockchain transaction volume in the future.
