Recent XRP ledger activity: Wells Fargo and Bank of Abu Dhabi participate in automated bridging transactions

A recent snapshot of XRP ledger (XRPL) activity shows that Wells Fargo and Bank of Abu Dhabi, two large financial institutions, have participated in automated bridging transactions in the past 24 hours. The discovery was made by cryptocurrency enthusiast ChaCha, who tracked data on the XRPL dashboard in real time.

Wells Fargo and Abu Dhabi Bank appear in the XRPL transaction flow

ChaCha announced through the X platform that Wells Fargo, a leading financial services company in the United States, and Bank Abu Dhabi, a well-known institution in the United Arab Emirates, both appear in the 24-hour automatic bridging transaction cycle on the XRP ledger. The data comes from a dashboard associated with analyst Chad Steingraber, which monitors historical and real-time activity on the network.

This dashboard tracks the flow of different currencies and tokens, in which XRP acts as a bridging asset between trading pairs. The indicators displayed include transaction volume, number of transactions, and asset flow over a specific period of time.

ChaCha explained that Wells Fargo and Abu Dhabi Bank had participated in XRPL automatic bridge transactions in the last 24 hours, citing transaction and volume data from the smart liquidity tracker.

Recent XRPL transactions involve an equally broad range of assets. RLUSD accounted for the largest proportion of tracked transaction volume at 58.8%, followed by Ethereum (ETH) at 17.5% and USDC at 12.7%. Other traded assets include U.S. dollars, EUROP, USDT and Bitcoin.

Asset Proportion Data

RLUSD: 58.8%
ETH: 17.5%
USDC: 12.7%
US Dollar, EUROP, USDT, Bitcoin: Remaining Shares

XRP as bridging asset role on the ledger

XRPL Automatic bridging is a built-in protocol feature that improves liquidity by allowing XRP to act as an intermediate asset, facilitating transactions between different asset pairs while facilitating pricing.

According to dashboard data, the largest recent automatic bridging flow is from USDC to RLUSD, totaling 1,878,199 XRP. Other important paths include US dollar to RLUSD (1,056,567 XRP), and Euro to ETH (1,019,578 XRP).

The tracker also records other transactions, such as RLUSD to USDC (747,739 XRP) and XAH to RLUSD (4,366 transactions, a total of 222,615 XRP). The two most recent transactions involved transfers from XAH to RLUSD, with amounts of 511.56 XRP and 727.46 XRP respectively.

The authenticity of institutional participation is questioned

A user named Hutnick_core4 questioned the accuracy of the name displayed in the tracker, pointing out that the XRPL account name can be set arbitrarily by the user.

ChaCha responded that despite this technical limitation, what is more important is transaction data and transaction volume, not just account tags. ChaCha said the actual organization behind the addresses will be confirmed over time through further investigation.

ChaCha emphasized that regardless of how the tracking tool displays the name, transaction volume is critical to analysis, and confirmation of actual organizations will depend on future identification efforts in the XRPL ecosystem.

This difference is important because the appearance of the bank's name on the dashboard cannot confirm its direct participation without verification through the chain address and relevant evidence. Currently, reported activities suggest possible links to large financial institutions, but direct organizational involvement remains to be confirmed. These transactions strengthen XRPL's growing adoption of cross-asset liquidity and highlight XRP's central role in connecting a variety of digital and legal assets through its automated bridging technology.
