Bitcoin (BTC) flirts with highs, but has different views
Bitcoin (BTC) is testing highs, but there are obvious differences of opinion. Standard Chartered is hesitant about its $100,000 target, Cory Klippsten is preparing to hit $80,000, while Peter Schiff is laughing coldly. Between the crazy predictions and the doubts, one question remains: Can the crypto queen ultimately deliver on her promise?
Standard Chartered Bank: US$100,000 is too conservative for Bitcoin
Standard Chartered Bank's Geoff Kendrick dares to question it. In a report recently shared, the strategist admitted that his target of reaching $100,000 for Bitcoin by the end of 2026 may be... too low. Driven by short clearing and the recovery of ETFs, Bitcoin may even hit a historical record of $126,000. Ironically, in February this year, the bank lowered that target from $150,000 to $100,000. Today, the market seems to scoff at these cautious measures. As Bitcoin prices hit $76,844 and ETF inflows hit a new record, Kendrick admitted: "For the first time this year, my forecast risks being too conservative."
Bitcoin is ready to break the US$80,000 mark?
Swan Bitcoin's Cory Klippsten just released a chart warning that BTC is being suppressed below the psychological resistance level of $80,000, like an angry bull bound in chains. However, with gains reaching 24% in a week, pressure is building, and institutional investors entering through ETFs seem ready to charge. But Klippsten is not confused, because the wall is not just a matter of price, but also a matter of confidence. Because if Bitcoin breaks the US$80,000 mark, Standard Chartered Bank's forecast of US$100,000 will appear extremely cheap. Otherwise, it will once again prove that the crypto market likes to play with bulls. Frankly, after so many false hopes, we are almost surprised that it succeeds the first time.
Peter Schiff: BTC is a fake breakthrough, gold is the true value
Peter Schiff remains the same. For the king of precious metals, Bitcoin's rise above $72,000 is nothing more than a fake breakthrough, an illusion. In his view, investors who believe that the return of easy money will boost both gold and Bitcoin are only half right, especially since the Federal Reserve has completely lost credibility in his eyes. With gold at $4,600, silver at $70, and oil at $87, the market is betting on continued inflation. In this case, only gold can withstand it. Bitcoin remains a speculative bubble, an asset with no intrinsic value. To make matters worse, he even directly suggested selling Bitcoin and buying gold. This is ironic considering that Bitcoin has outperformed gold by 1,000% over the past 10 years.
Between Standard Chartered's perhaps crazy dream that Bitcoin could reach $120,000 by the end of the year, Klippsten's optimism and Peter Schiff's scathing skepticism, one thing is certain: Bitcoin has sparked divisions. So, what do you think: Is a historic rally coming or a bull trap?
