The platform is currently in talks with Kraken's parent company Payward to provide regulated perpetual contracts to U.S. traders.

The revision to Hashdex's NASDAQ CME Cryptocurrency Index ETF with the trading symbol NCIQ will take effect on September 1, 2026. The portfolio currently contains nine digital assets, an expansion from the previous eight assets.

HYPE joined the index with a weight of 3.36%. Bitcoin still maintains its dominant position with 74.36%, followed by Ethereum with 11.88%, Ripple (XRP) with 5.21%, and Solana with 3.79%.

Hyperliquid takes place in Hashdex's ETFs

Hashdex has added Hyperliquid's native tokens to its Nasdaq CME Cryptocurrency Index ETF, a change effective September 1. The move expanded NCIQ's assets from eight to nine. Based on the information cited, HYPE entered the index with a weight of 3.36%.

The current index composition includes: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Solana, Hyperliquid, Stellar, Cardano, Chainlink and Bitcoin Cash.

NCIQ was launched by Hashdex in February 2025 and initially included only Bitcoin and Ethereum. The fund uses a rules-based framework that evaluates factors such as liquidity, market value, custody infrastructure and compliance with regulatory listing requirements.

Samir Kerbage, chief investment officer of Hashdex, emphasized that asset expansion is an important part of fund design. Kerbage explained: "The original intention of launching NCIQ with two assets in February 2025 was always to expand the portfolio." Kerbage further emphasized that Hyperliquid's decentralized exchange architecture and increasingly clear regulatory environment are factors contributing to the growing importance of its ecosystem in traditional financial markets.

Hyperliquid Strategies expands capital scale

Synchronizing with the ETF news, Hyperliquid Strategies filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to expand its equity financing arrangement with Chardan Capital Markets from $1 billion to $2.5 billion. This expanded framework represents available limits rather than capital acquired.

The giant whale bought another US$11.8 million in HYPE today. The increase in holdings continues.

The final funds raised will vary based on stock allocation and market pricing. The agency said the proceeds may be used to support general company operations and may include additional purchases of HYPE tokens, but there are no specific allocation requirements.

As of August 19, Hyperliquid Strategies held 29.3 million HYPE tokens. Starting in December 2025, the company has invested US$773.4 million to purchase approximately 16.5 million tokens, with an average cost of approximately US$46.77 each.

The company's Nasdaq-listed stock PURR closed at $11.36 on September 1, down 7.3% on the day. The valuation remains below the reference price threshold of $12.02, which is related to stock issuance restrictions set out in the revised financing agreement.
