Polkadot network throughput soared by nearly 150%
On September 2, 2026, Polkadot network activity showed a significant jump. According to Chainspect monitoring, network throughput has climbed nearly 150% from previous levels, reaching 0.06 transactions per second (TPS), and approximately 4960 transactions were generated in a single hour. Although 0.06 TPS is not prominent among high-throughput blockchains, this percentage increase is still one of Boka's largest one-day gains this year. Chainspect tracks blockchain performance indicators in real time, including TPS, block time and final confirmation speed, and marks the change as a significant one-day increase. The analysis platform monitors real-time network data rather than theoretical benchmarks, so it is often used as a reference source for comparison of on-chain activity.
Core of the surge in activity: Polkadot Products Devnet
The surge in activity was attributed to traffic from Polkadot Products Devnet. Launched jointly by the Paseo team and the Polkadot Community Foundation, the developer network is designed to allow developers to test new products, apps and features without using real money or taking real asset risks. Under the slogan "Products for People", the program runs on Paseo, a testing network operated by the Boca community. This environment allows users to deploy static Web applications as.dot domain names and test them in Boca's official mobile, desktop and web clients. It also supports managed services for identity authentication, payment and storage without the need for value tokens. Products Devnet provides developers with the space to build and test applications using new features before future features of the Boca main network are launched without having to bear real financial risks.
Adoption rate has grown steadily since its launch. More than 200 applications have been indexed on the development network, covering multiple categories such as marketing, collaboration documents, reviews, and NFT. Before being publicly launched, some of Boca's new features were tested at the 2026 Berlin Web3 Summit, and about 900 people participated in proof-of-concept testing of payment, communication and authentication based on Boca products.
The strategic significance of the development network
The more far-reaching significance of this development network is that it conveys the signal of Boca developer strategy. This move represents a shift from parallel chains to consumer-grade applications, offering free hosting and a simpler user experience to compete with the Layer-2 network. The Boca Community Foundation and Parity are the main designers of the SDK, DotNS and Bulletin infrastructure that drive the environment. Whether this surge in activity is a single-day phenomenon or the beginning of continued growth in on-chain usage will become a key data point for Boca Network after entering the second half of 2026.
