XRPL amendment activity surges, new scoreboard drives Devnet coverage to 91%

XRP Ledger amendment testing coverage rises, with new scoreboard boosting Devnet testing to 91%

The amendment scoreboard launched by the XRP Ledger Foundation is tracking complete Devnet testing, providing developers with direct evidence support before validators permanently activate the proposed XRP Ledger feature. In just 48 hours, developers activated 278 previously unused components, bringing the overall development network coverage to 91%, and successfully covering 16 monitored amendments.

At the same time, the redesigned XRPL website has expanded access to resources, while the Paris hackathon event focuses on lending and the development of vault prototypes, with a $10,000 reward.

Scoreboard drives increased testing activity in online development environments

The XRP Ledger Foundation's amendment scoreboard has driven a significant increase in testing activity in online development environments. According to Denis Angell, chief technology officer of the foundation, the dashboard is used to measure whether developers have actually implemented the complete specification of each amendment on the Devotion Web site.

All XRPL features are entered into the protocol through an "amendment" mechanism and approved by the verifier before mainnet activation. Once in effect, these features will become a permanent part of the agreement. As a result, the foundation wants developers to thoroughly test every feature over its life cycle before the validator approves permanent implementation.

The scoreboard collects amendment specifications directly from XRPL nodes, eliminating the reliance on manual maintenance of test records. It tracks transaction types, optional fields, flags, result codes, ledger entries, and the life cycle of each function. In addition, it also monitors active development network transactions that have completed testing. The green cell confirms that it has been successfully overridden and links to the first valid transaction involving the relevant function; the red cell identifies the components that require additional testing.

XRPL Development Network reaches 91% coverage

Angell reported that the scoreboard accurately monitored 16 amendments operating on the Development Network. In just 48 hours since launch, developers have used 278 amendment components that have never before appeared in a valid transaction.

The testing level for both amendments jumped from single digits to full coverage, showing how transparent measurement promotes broader developer engagement. In addition, the "Sponsor" amendment added 77 tested cells, helping the overall Dev.com amendment coverage to 91%. Currently, eight monitored amendments show full coverage, with each cell connected to at least one active transaction.

In addition to testing dashboards, the redesigned XRPL website also provides clearer resource access paths for organizations, developers, community members and new users. Users can access organized resources covering payments, tokenization, transactions, development tools and other XRP Ledger applications.

Paris hackathon expands XRPL development efforts

Development activities will receive further support through the Builder Task Force hackathons held in Paris from September 11 to September 13. De Vinci Blockchain will host approximately 40 to 50 developers and offer a $10,000 reward.

Participants will use the XLS-66 Loan Agreement and the XLS-65 Single Asset Vault to build a prototype while evaluating documentation and development tools. Together, these initiatives support in-depth testing by the broader developer community to enhance the robustness of features before they become a permanent part of the XRPL protocol.
