Singapore man Malone Lam pleaded guilty to being involved in more than US$245 million in cryptocurrency theft

Malone Lam, a Singapore citizen and a recent resident of Miami, pleaded guilty in Washington, D.C., of participating in an international cybercrime conspiracy in which the gang stole and laundered more than US$245 million in cryptocurrency.

Prosecutor Jeanine Ferris Pirro announced the plea agreement after Rahm appeared before U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly. According to an official press release, the 22-year-old defendant pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy under the Organic Anti-Extortion and Bribery Act (RICO), and the court is scheduled to hold a status hearing on December 8, 2026.

Court documents show that the criminal enterprise began operations as early as October 2023 and will continue until at least May 2025. The gang established connections through online gaming platforms and members spread across California, Connecticut, New York, Florida and other countries. They use social engineering, sometimes even burglary, to obtain information, thereby emptying victims 'cryptocurrency wallets.

"If you build a cybercrime empire, we will destroy it"

U.S. prosecutor Piro said: "If you try to build a cybercrime empire, we will find you, disrupt your actions, and hold you legally accountable." The defendant led a transnational network that violated the privacy of victims through deception and stole hundreds of millions of dollars in cryptocurrency. We will continue to work with our partners in the FBI and IRS-CI to pursue hackers who use technology to steal innocent people's property."

Nightclubs, luxury cars and luxury spending

Ram, alias "Anne Hathaway","$$$" and "King Greavy", is said to be responsible for organizing operations, selecting targets and assigning roles among accomplices. The stolen funds were then used in large quantities to purchase luxury goods and services.

According to reports, the gang paid up to US$500,000 for a single night of club services, purchased handbags worth tens of thousands of dollars to give away at club parties, and purchased watches worth US$100,000 to US$500,000. In addition, they spend tens of thousands of dollars on high-end clothing, rent luxury homes in places such as Los Angeles, the Hamptons and Miami, rent private jets and hire private security teams, and purchase exotic cars worth between US$100,000 and US$3.8 million.

Law enforcement arrested Ramh at his rented home in Miami on September 18, 2025.
