Circle announced that it will stop supporting USDC and CCTP V1 protocols on the Noble blockchain.
Circle, the issuer of stablecoin, posted a blog post on September 10 stating that as part of its transition to the next generation cross-chain standard CCTP V2, Circle will stop supporting USDC and the traditional CCTP V1 protocol on the Noble blockchain. According to the plan, the ability to add USDC to Noble through Circle Mint will be closed on October 13, 2026, while the redemption channel will be retained until January 12, 2027.
Migration Schedule and Redemption Window
Circle recommends that Circle Mint customers, retail users, and non-Circle customers holding USDC on the Noble chain migrate to other supported blockchains. During the period from October 13, 2026 to January 12, 2027, USDC on Noble can still transfer funds freely. However, after the suspension date (January 12, 2027), Noble's USDC contract and CCTP routing will be completely suspended. At that time, Circle will take a snapshot of the remaining USDC balance on Noble and open the manual redemption portal on January 13, 2027.
To be eligible for manual redemption, the holder must meet Circle's compliance and security requirements, hold a USDC in a user-controlled wallet, and his wallet address must be recorded in a snapshot of the suspension date.
Why Circle retired CCTP V1 on Noble
Circle described the move as part of its transition to CCTP V2. CCTP V2 is defined as the next generation cross-chain protocol with faster final confirmation speed and stronger security. It is worth noting that Noble will not receive support from CCTP V2.
The destruction limit of CCTP V1 will be gradually reduced starting on October 31, 2026. Starting from December 1, 2026, CCTP exit operations may be limited to those target chains that continue to support CCTP V1 destruction. Circle said it will publish a list of known exit channels and noted that it does not operate an exit interface itself. At the same time, Circle is urging applications that integrate CCTP V1 for Noble to remove the route by January 12, 2027.
The continued existence of the Cosmos ecosystem
This reduction does not mean the end of Circle's activities in the Cosmos ecosystem. Circle noted that Injective and other chains connected through IBC remain active partnerships for Circle, and USDC continues to serve as a clearing asset in the extensive Cosmos DeFi. In addition, CCTP's expansion across EVM and non-EVM chains is still ongoing as Circle strives to expand what it calls the "most trusted and interoperable" digital dollar into a wider range of areas.
