Anthropic is negotiating with Nvidia to invest tens of billions of dollars, or make it the largest IPO in history.

Reuters quoted people familiar with the matter as reporting on Saturday that Anthropic is negotiating with Nvidia on a potential investment that could reach as much as $10 billion, which may become the largest initial public offering (IPO) in history.

It is reported that Anthropic plans to raise up to US$100 billion in this offering, a move that could value the artificial intelligence company to approximately US$2 trillion. Sources told Reuters that discussions were still ongoing and could change. Because the negotiations were confidential, these people chose to remain anonymous.

If the deal is concluded, Nvidia can not only support the offering as an early strategic investor, but also further strengthen its ties with its key customer Anthropic. Currently, Anthropic declined to comment, and Nvidia did not respond to requests for comment.

Previous cooperation: Anthropic locks in huge power supplies

As early as August 11, Cointelegraph reported that Bitcoin miner Riot Platforms had signed a 20-year agreement with its campus in Rockdale, Texas to provide 191 MW of power capacity to a "cutting-edge AI" company. According to Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the matter, the customer is Anthropic, and the transaction is valued at approximately $9 billion.

Nvidia acquires Hugging Face to expand software space

Cointelegraph reported earlier this month that Nvidia agreed to acquire Hugging Face for $12.9 billion, a move that aims to extend its business into the software and tools developers use to build artificial intelligence.

Nvidia CEO Renxun Huang said that Hugging Face serves more than 18 million developers and hosts more than 3 million models. As technology companies increasingly compete fiercely in areas such as chips, software and developer tools, the acquisition will give Nvidia control of an important AI model platform.
