WLFI World Liberty Financial launches new governance proposal: reward for locking tokens and participating in voting
World Liberty Financial released a new governance proposal at its forum that aims to encourage its native WLFI token holders to lock tokens and actively participate in voting through a reward mechanism, rather than just passively holding them. The plan sets a target launch date of October 1 and changes the project's definition of how tokens are used to directly link revenue distribution to users 'actual participation.
Analysis of the core content of the proposal
The "WLFI Governance Participation Incentive Plan" requires users to lock in tokens through an unmanaged on-chain agreement for at least 180 days. However, locking in tokens alone is not enough to earn rewards. Holders must vote on governance proposals at least once every 90 days to remain eligible for the reward. World Liberty promises to initiate at least one voting issue every quarter to ensure participants always have votes to cast.
Reward funds come from a dynamic pool funded by revenue sources within the ecosystem, including transaction fees from World Liberty Markets and Dolomite. As the project develops, the funding pool is replenished every two weeks. If the number of tokens locked in early stages is small, early participants may receive a larger percentage of the reward share.
In addition, the 5% voting power concentration limit set by the pledge agreement prevents a single position from dominating the voting result. Whether or not you choose to lock in a token, the governance rights of each WLFI holder remain unchanged.
Market Reaction and Background
