The U.S. Senate is about to hold a procedural vote on the Digital Asset Markets Clarification Act

As the U.S. Senate conducts a procedural vote on the CLARITY Act on September 15, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse sent a bold message after Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent delivered a speech.

This is by far the most comprehensive legislation regulating cryptocurrencies in the United States. The Clarification Act aims to divide regulatory responsibilities between the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

Basent provides reassurance to community banks

On September 14, Basent said that the Clarification Act is crucial to ensuring that the United States wins the global technology race. He also responded to banking industry opposition to the crypto legislation because community banks were concerned that the bill's provisions on stablecoin gains could steal away their customers.

Bessent said that the progress of American community banks has always been his focus. The Trump administration's dual focus-both helping emerging digital technologies thrive and tailoring regulatory policies for community banks-are two key factors driving U.S. economic growth in the coming decades.
