This week's Pi Network news shows that the ecosystem is advancing in multiple aspects simultaneously. Protocol 27 has been confirmed online on Testnet 2, a new KYC fix has just cleared migration barriers for nearly a million users, and an unmanaged wallet is reviewing Pi's latest APIs to explore potential integration possibilities.
These initiatives are interconnected-smart contracts drive the decentralized exchange (DEX) roadmap, KYC fixes accelerate mainnet migration, and wallet integration discussions promote day-to-day practicality. Together, they tell a story: despite the bumpy trend of token prices, infrastructure is improving rapidly.
Protocol 27 is advancing on Testnet2, towards a complete mainnet
According to an API screenshot shared by Ambassador Okere Eberechi on the X platform, Protocol 27 is now officially running on Testnet2. This line of code marks a real transformation.
Protocol 27 upgrades smart contract authentication capabilities, allowing accounts and applications to approve transactions in a more flexible manner. It also laid the early foundation for a future automated market maker (AMM) flow pool and a decentralized exchange.
This release started with Testnet 2, and Testnet 1 is already running updated code, and the mainnet transition is expected to be completed within a few days of the initial announcement.
Pi Node Docker 已更新至版本 27.1.0，主网节点运营商必须更新到此构建版本以保持连接，不过普通矿工无需采取任何行动，因为余额和挖矿将继续不受中断地进行。

- 497,000 fast track wallets are expected to be unlocked within a few days.
- Activity check now supports older phone models.
- Fingerprint verification tests have been opened to some users.
- Indonesian users with unsupported KIA IDs can resubmit.
However, full mainnet enablement is still in a "ready" rather than an "open" state. New authentication and broader activation of the RPC infrastructure have not yet been confirmed as complete, and steps such as Super Node selection are still pending before a public transaction is possible.
Today's Pi Coin Price: Market Reaction to the 2026 Pi Network Upgrade

- Tokens increased by nearly 4.14%
- Daily trading volume dropped by 9.61%. to US$7.8 million
- market value below US$1 billion: Currently at US$964.46 million
- Compared with a high of nearly US$2.98 in February 2025, the PI is still down about 97%
This rise follows a decline of about 14% to 15% due to the release of Agreement 27 around September 15. The light trading volume behind the rebound suggests that the current recovery is only tentative rather than a firm reversal, which coincides with the KYC fix.
Peniwallet 集成谈判指向更广泛的生态系统覆盖范围
PI 生态系统的增长不仅限于协议升级。Peniwallet 是一款围绕“Spray”功能构建的非托管钱包，该功能可同时将代币分发到多个地址，它正在审查 Pi 的最新 API 以进行潜在集成。
