The core of Butrin's proposal is to use advanced cryptographic verification techniques to overcome these limitations. Under this model, a single node can perform transaction processing and generate a compact cryptographic proof to demonstrate the correctness of the execution. Subsequent nodes can efficiently confirm the results by verifying these proofs without having to re-perform the entire calculation process from scratch. This paradigm shift allows workload to be distributed across the network while maintaining cryptographic guarantees of correctness. Butrin admitted that the Ethereum development team explored similar concepts a decade ago. However, attempts at the time failed because no technology existed to reliably verify computing work. Networks still need mechanisms to resolve specific conflicts, such as determining transaction sequencing when competing payment conflicts occur. Butrin suggested that more pre-processing could be done before transactions are submitted to the blockchain layer.

Enhance privacy protection for wallet operations

The proposal not only deals with scalability, but also addresses privacy issues in daily wallet interactions. Butrin pointed out that current balance query mechanisms usually require queries on third-party servers associated with specific addresses. These server operators can see which accounts users monitor, and even if the transaction amount is kept confidential, it can cause privacy leaks. Butrin's vision includes hiding balance query data, as well as transaction data and smart contract logic. This will allow companies to maintain financial privacy without exposing comprehensive account activity patterns to external observers. Parallel efforts are also under way within the cryptocurrency ecosystem. Zcash has long provided encrypted addresses and transaction amounts through its privacy protection agreement. As of Friday, approximately 4.9 million ZECs were stored in Zcash's privacy pool. On Sunday, with a weekly gain of about 15%, the token traded at about $1,660. On Thursday, researchers published academic work proposing a similar privacy blocking feature for Bitcoin. However, the technical specifications have not yet addressed the mechanism for depositing or withdrawing Bitcoin within the framework. Butrin expects that the Hegotá upgrade that Ethereum plans to implement in 2027 will become the last regular hard fork. Subsequent protocol improvements will increasingly rely on mathematical proofs, automated verification systems, and anti-quantum cryptographic security measures. Ethereum researcher Barnabé Monnot commented on the proposal, acknowledging that off-chain computing can significantly reduce network processing requirements. However, he stressed that critical state data must remain on-chain to preserve users 'ability to interact directly with decentralized applications. Gabriel Shapiro, a prominent cryptocurrency lawyer, questioned the market demand for proof-centric buildings. He observed that contemporary financial infrastructure relies largely on regulatory frameworks and legal remedies rather than continuous cryptographic certification.
