Ripple transfers US$149.6 million of XRP to Binance-related wallets

Ripple recently made a major transfer, transferring 99,866,844 XRP tokens worth approximately US$149.6 million. The deal was originally flagged by analyst Xaif, who shared detailed on-chain data that revealed a larger pattern of capital flows.

Transaction details

The transfer occurred on October 6, and Ripple sent the XRP from its management wallet to an address with Destination Tag 681503328. After settling at 4:18 pm UTC, the transaction incurred a very low fee of only 0.00015 XRP. Prior to this, the receiving wallet held 38,196.4 XRPs. After the transaction was completed, its balance increased to 99,905,040.611845 XRPs.

The low transaction costs highlight one of the main advantages of XRP ledgers: the ability to move funds on a large scale at a cost of less than a cent.

Wallet Address (Target Tag: 681503328) Pre-transaction balance Post-transaction balance Payment of handling fees Receiver 38,196.4 XRP 99,905,040.611845 XRP 0.000015 XRP

Fund flow

Blockchain tracking service Whale Alert also monitored the transaction and identified the recipient as an "unknown wallet." After close inspection, the on-chain activation record linked the address-and another wallet to which funds were subsequently transferred-directly to Binance, the world's most traded cryptocurrency exchange.

Ripple's large transfers were not idle, and XRP was subsequently transferred to a second wallet also associated with Binance. Both wallets show an activated connection to the exchange. This flow of funds suggests that Ripple may be managing liquidity or promoting exchange-related operational activities.

Noun explanation: Whale Alert is a blockchain tracking platform that monitors and reports large cryptocurrency transactions on major networks, providing real-time updates on capital flows involving exchanges, companies and well-known wallets.

Similar XRP transfer model

Whale Alert data shows that three other major XRP transfers occurred during this period, each involving approximately 99,865,845 tokens. Two of the transactions were made between wallets already associated with Binance. The earliest transfer noted by analyst Xaif came directly from Ripple's designated wallet, marking the beginning of this series of activities.

Market and Community Reaction

These latest transactions occurred just hours after another Ripple transfer involving nearly 100 million XRPs. Several community members on social media believe that such transactions are routine fund transfers rather than direct sales to the market. One user said the classification of "unknown wallet" only reflects labeling conventions and does not necessarily mean a sell-off is imminent. The user pointed out that $1.55 is a key level to observe XRP prices.

"'Unknown 'is just a label, not evidence of a sell-off. $1.55 continues to be the key price level for $XRP." One participant wrote.

Another community member claimed that the tokens ended up making their way into the wallets controlled by Ripple, refuting speculation that the company was about to dump them on the market. On-chain data supports the claim that funds move between Ripple and the wallets associated with Binance, suggesting that this is an operational rather than market-driven transfer.

At the time of these transactions, XRP was trading at $1.47, down 2.35% for the day. One social media commentator believed the transfers had no broader significance, while another speculated that the move could be related to acquisitions, although there was currently no specific evidence to confirm this. In recent years, Ripple has been committed to expanding the XRP ecosystem and its utility through multiple acquisitions, but no new details have emerged compared to previous recent transfers.

Observers have advised the community to record these large transactions for future reference, but no official link to any particular acquisition activity has been confirmed.
