Canton Network announced the integration of Ripple's institutional hosting platform and deepened the layout of institutional digital asset infrastructure.
Canton Network's official account announced that Ripple's institutional hosting platform has officially integrated Canton Network. This move marks an important integration between two leading companies in the field of institutional digital asset infrastructure.
Practical value brought by integration
This support will be launched with the release of Ripple Custody version 1.43 (Note: The original date is October 5, 2026, the original context is retained here). Currently, Ripple Custody supports the Canton Network, an infrastructure specifically designed for institutional tokenization, settlement and repo transactions. Through the platform, institutional customers can now host and transfer Canton Coin ($CC) and CIP-56 tokens.
Ripple adopts the "Bring Your Own Verifier"(BYOV) model, which means clients can connect the hosting platform to verification nodes that they or the node provider already operates. The signing key is always retained in the customer's own vault, whether using a Hardware Security Module (HSM) or a Key Management Service (KMS).
Ripple Custody applies its existing policy control capabilities and audit trail mechanism to Canton's custody services, covering balance management, transaction history and transfer operations. In addition, the platform also supports pre-approval of incoming transfers, allowing institutions to accept, reject or withdraw two-step verified transfer requests.
There are certain limitations on the scope of current rollout: Canton support is currently only provided through the API, and direct calls of any Canton application command are not yet supported.
Why Canton is Critical to Institutional Finance
Canton Network ($CC) is a public, privacy-protected Layer 1 blockchain designed to bridge the gap between traditional finance and the world on the chain, focusing on institutional-level compliance and tokenization of real-world assets (RWA).
Canton, developed by Digital Asset, solves Wall Street's core pain point at the protocol level: in multilateral transactions, ensuring that each participant can only see its own data, thereby achieving data isolation and collaboration. Currently, the Canton Network's institutional base includes Goldman Sachs, BNP Paribas and Bank of New York Mellon. Broadridge's platform processes billions of dollars in repo transactions every day through the network, and clearing giant DTCC also tokenizes U.S. Treasuries on these tracks.
What it means for $XRP holders
For $XRP holders, this integration strengthens the complementary nature of the two networks rather than the competitive relationship. Ripple's custody infrastructure now covers both its own ledgers and the Canton network, which handles some of the industry's largest institutional transactions. This positioning is expected to benefit both $CC and $XRP in the medium term.
