Among Bitwise's speeches to 400 wealth management managers, XRP attracted the most attention.
In a recent speech held by Bitwise covering multiple major cryptocurrency sectors and investment topics, the audience from 400 wealth management managers asked more questions about XRP than other crypto assets. This phenomenon highlights the high interest of professional financial institutions in the token.
XRP becomes the most watched investment target
According to Bitwise research analyst Ryan Rasmussen, participants showed strong interest in XRP throughout the speech. Rasmussen and Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan co-chaired the conference, which covered Bitcoin, Solana, Hyperliquid, stablecoins, tokenization and other major developments that affect digital asset investment strategies. However, XRP eventually became the most discussed topic among attendees, reflecting the eagerness of wealth management professionals to gain a deeper understanding of the token.
Rasmussen later posted on social media platform X to confirm the response, saying that XRP was the most questioned cryptocurrency at this event. Although questions are not equivalent to actual investment allocations, they clearly reveal which assets financial professionals are focusing on.
Spot XRP ETF inflows strengthen institutional interest
This market attention echoes the increased exposure of regulated XRP investment products. Data showed that as of September 1, spot XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded net inflows for 11 consecutive trading days. During this period, the funds attracted approximately US$170 million in funding, and cumulative net inflows since listing in November have reached approximately US$1.68 billion.
However, this continuous inflow trend ended on September 2, when related products recorded a net outflow of approximately US$7.2 million on that day.
The disclosure of institutional position documents further demonstrates the participation of professional investors in XRP products. Goldman Sachs held approximately $87.4 million in XRP-related exposure at the end of the second quarter. As a result, Goldman Sachs became the largest institutional investor disclosed, according to data compiled by Bloomberg Intelligence. Closely followed by Jane Street, with a position of approximately $16.6 million; Millennium Management reported a position of approximately $16.2 million.
Most wealth management managers have not yet deployed cryptocurrencies
Despite rising professional attention, 67% of participating wealth management managers have not yet deployed funds to the cryptocurrency sector. Despite this, 60% of respondents expect cryptocurrency prices to rise before the end of the year. Another 60% plan to allocate funds to digital assets over the next year.
This shows that although wealth management managers are open to cryptocurrencies, they remain cautious when selecting specific products and formulating appropriate asset allocation strategies. XRP has become an important topic for wealth management managers assessing exposure to cryptocurrencies. In addition, ETF capital inflows and institutional positions data provide measurable evidence to support this attention.
