Hyperliquid's news today: HYPE giant whale transfers US$8 million to the exchange, while ETFs continue to buy

Today's news about Hyperliquid presents two diametrically opposed signals in the same market. During the trading session, the price of the token fluctuates between $81.66 and $85.94. Although a wallet address associated with Galaxy Digital is moving to the exchange (which could be an early sell signal), Bitwise's HYPE-linked funds have not recorded a single day of net outflows in the past two weeks.

This divergence between the giant whale's cautious attitude and stable institutional demand makes today's Hyperliquid token price trend worthy of close attention.

Why does HYPE price still rise even when the giant whale transfers funds to the exchange?

Today's $HYPE prices reflect resilience rather than panic. According to CoinGecko, Hyperliquid's $HYPE market value is $19.059 billion, with a fully diluted valuation of $81.848 billion.

HYPE ETF Fund Inflows: Bitwise Fund has no net sales record in 13 days

As part of this week's crypto news, Arkham Intelligence reported that Bitwise's three HYPE-linked products (BHYP, THYP and HYPG) have not seen a single day of net sales since August 20.

  • BHYP customers alone purchased $10.5 million worth of $HYPE on Friday.
  • Among the three funds, total ETF inflows reached US$64 million during this period, totaling US$363 million since launch.

There have been no net selling trading days for BHYP, THYP or HYPG since August 20.

On Friday alone, BHYP customers purchased US$10.5 million worth of tokens.

Net capital inflow within 13 days was US$64 million, a cumulative US$363 million since launch.

This institutional buying model is in sharp contrast to the operation of a large wallet on the same day. Arkham Intelligence also released relevant updates on the X platform.

Galaxy Digital HYPE Transfer: Giant Whale transfers US$8.1 million to exchange

The other side of today's Hyperliquid news comes from online data tracker OnchainLens. Data showed that in four hours on September 9, a wallet address associated with Galaxy Digital transferred 95,270 $HYPEs (worth approximately $8.1 million) to two exchanges.

Exchange Volume Value (USD)Bybit 36,4.2 - 3.1 million US $OKX 58,8.5 - 5.01 million Although the wallet has not yet confirmed its intention, the transfer of funds to the exchange usually indicates subsequent sales. This HYPE whale movement is one of the clearest on-chain signals that traders watch closely because it often appears before spot selling pressure intensifies.

OnchainLens also posted a post on the X platform about the deal.

Expert opinion: What does this mean for HYPE price forecasts?

Analysts tracking Hyperliquid market capitalization trends point out that the current situation is more like a tug-of-war than a clear one-way trend.

Continued ETF accumulation may offset short-term selling pressure from a single large wallet, but given the potential selling pressure of more than US$75 million in 13F institutional positions and the transfer of funds from giant whales to exchanges, short-term volatility may remain at a high level.

Any HYPE price forecast built based on today's data should regard Galaxy Digital's transfers as an early signal rather than a confirmed sale; at the same time, continued ETF inflows indicate that institutional confidence has been maintained for more than two weeks.

Readers following today's Hyperliquid news should watch closely to see whether these transferred tokens actually enter Bybit or OKX order books in the next few hours. This will confirm whether this is a distribution activity or a simple wallet management operation.

This article builds on the Hyperliquid ETF and Giant Whale pledge updates released on Tuesday, when another wallet chose to pledge rather than sell, further highlighting the complex nature of this week's signals.
