Bitcoin once again failed to break through the US$87,000 resistance level
With global stock markets approaching historical highs, Bitcoin appeared unable to break through the US$87,000 resistance level. As a leader in the crypto market, Bitcoin fell about 1.2% to around $85,600 due to the return of selling pressure. In particular, the increased selling pressure in the $87,000 region has limited the release of Bitcoin's upward momentum.
This level has stopped Bitcoin's upward momentum for the third time since September 23, making it a key resistance point in BTC prices. The market is currently paying close attention to whether Bitcoin can effectively break through this resistance level and whether it will trigger a new round of rising prices.
Strong selling pressure resumed at the US$87,000 level
Although Bitcoin briefly touched above US$87,000 on Monday, it failed to stabilize itself at this position. Continued selling pressure pulled BTC back to around $85,600. So far, the $87,000 barrier has limited Bitcoin's upside for the third time in recent weeks.
At the same time, the total market value of the cryptocurrency market also fell back to approximately US$2.93 trillion, below the important resistance level of US$2.95 trillion pointed out by FxPro. However, despite the correction in Bitcoin, some altcoins have shown a positive divergence trend. HYPE increased by nearly 3%, ADA increased by about 11%, and GRT and NEAR increased by about 7%.
Analysts 'View: Be wary of increased volatility
FxPro analyst Alex Kuptsikevich pointed out that Bitcoin has reached higher local lows since early last week, but bulls have not yet gained enough momentum. Regarding the current technical pattern, Kuptsikevich assessed:
"Prices are approaching the apex of a triangular pattern composed of horizontal resistance and upward support. So if prices move out of that pattern, we need to be prepared for increasing volatility."
This pattern suggests that Bitcoin's price range is gradually narrowing between the US$87,000 resistance level and the rising support line.
Nasdaq hits a new high, Bitcoin lags behind
While Bitcoin faces selling pressure, the U.S. stock market remains strong. The Nasdaq 100 index hit a new closing high, the S & P 500 closed about 0.5% off its all-time high, and the MSCI Asia Pacific Index rose 0.1%. In the bond market, yields continue to climb. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note rose to 5.32%, and the yield on the 2-year Treasury note rose to 4.83%.
